Publisher's summary

An arranged marriage leads to passionate love in this classic Scottish historical romance from #1 New York Times bestselling author Julie Garwood.

By edict of the king, the mighty Scottish laird Alec Kincaid must take an English bride. His choice is Jamie, youngest daughter of Baron Jamison - a feisty, violet-eyed beauty. Alec aches to touch her, to tame her, to possess her...forever. But Jamie has vowed never to surrender to a man she considers a highland barbarian.

Alec is everything Jamie’s heart has warned her against - an arrogant scoundrel whose rough good looks speak of savage pleasures. While Kincaid’s scorching kisses set fire to her blood, she is determined to resist him...until one rapturous moment quells their clash of wills, and something far more dangerous than desire threatens to conquer her senses...

A pleasant surprise!

I loved this book! Just a good romance and funny English/Scottish rival between the couple. I was pleasantly surprised by this book. If you are looking for hot and heavy it’s not here, but still sexy enough you want to keep listening.

I don’t understand

I enjoyed the story but the narrator ruined it for me. It was a real struggle for me finish this one! Her portrayal made Kincade sound like a stiff puny man. The sex scenes were a bit much for me also.

so pleased

I have loved these books from Julie Garwood for many years. I have read so many of her books multiple times. So choosing to invest listen to it on my long drive was a really fun choice. I was so pleased with the narrator who just brought to life the characters that I had in my heart as I read. I appreciate the way she was able to read the story and have me get lost in the listening. I'm going to enjoy listening to this again and again the way I've enjoyed reading the books again and again

Julie Garwood Writes Entertaining Novlels

I usually enjoy a love story that starts out with strong minded characters. The Bride does not disappoint. My only issue with the heroine is her quirks that are meant to be silly comes off as annoying. She has many other characteristics that are strong if you can get past the indulgences and the fact that women had no rights in England or Ireland at the time if this story. The hero is a much better man than most authors have in historical novels. He is a Laird and demands the respect that the position gives him and a not a bad husband ro boot!

Still laughed and enjoyed

Some dated parts. But still enjoyed listening as gardening and cleaning. Laughed out loud at fast paced dialogue

Classic, Awesome, Historical Romance.

Also Classic Julie Garwood read by
Rosalyn Landor.
Please… please have Landor re- record :The Wedding. The prior Audible recording is soooo below the Audible book for The Bride!!

And please Julie Garwood return to Historical Romance.

May I suggest Julie, the story of Gabriel’s and his wife Johannas’s miracle child’s life destiny from Saving Grace?

Or what about Ian and Judith’s child’s life story after The Ransom?

In Earnest,
Committed Fan
