Let me start by saying I love Gena Showalter, and giving this 4 stars is so hard for me. I feel like I have just insulted a Goddess or slapped the Queen. From what I can tell, this was read off of the original ebook that was released a while ago and I was expecting it to be the same as it was when published in the book Into The Dark. When I email Gena about this, she told me that there was a word limit to the ebook and that she had lengthened the stories in Into The Dark which had no word count. Author's have no say as to which version is released on audio, I believe that is the publisher's choice. This would have been a lot better if the longer version had been done on audio, but that is only my opinion. The story is still very good.
This story starts where Vampire's Bride, book 4 in the Atlantis series leaves off. This novella features Zane, a vampire warrior and his hope to be love, Nola, a Amazon soldier.
I love being swept away by a new romance and thankfully Audible's ever growing Library means I get to indulge myself over and over again
Good romantic listen and what more do you want for $0.99. If you're a Showalter fan then you just can't miss this little gem.
I really loved this story and have to say that Zane is one of my favorite characters in the Atlantis series so far. The only thing I think was missing was length. I loved the characters and wish they had been developed more and given a longer story. If you like the Atlantis series though, this book is worth the read, not worth a credit but worth the $2.95 that I paid for it (due to length). I didn't really like the Narrator as you couldn't tell the males voices from the females, thankfully it was a short read.
No. It was boring. No where near as interesting as Gena Showalter's other stories.
I cannot say. I just didn't like the narrator. I don't necessarily think she did a bad job. I think Max Bellmore is the best narrator for Gena's books.
Love sci-fi books, romace books. I love to get lost into a good book.
SHORT SWEET, AND HOT.
WHEN THE BOOK ENDED, AND YOU FOUND OUT IT WAS NOT A SERIES.
WORTH THE LISTEN
This books finishes off the story of 2 characters from The Vampire's Bride (Nola and Zane). Thus, if you did not read The Vampire's Bride, you will not get into this story, as it is very short and you need the background to appreciate this story. I thought this book felt very rushed, and I think Gena should have just finished their story in The Vampire's Bride. However, I wanted to see the conclusion of Nola and Zane's romace, so I bought it (and as a short story, the cost was low). Savannah Richards is an excellent narrator.
I hope Ms. Showalter decides to expand it! I love how she melds the two worlds, so descriptive. I wish I could purchase the Nymph King on Audible, I would love to listen.
For as much as I read and listen you would think by now that I would know how to spell lol. I read at least 5 books a week there are times I have gotten up to 10 in a week.
short sweet and to the point. im glad this book was made....after reading The Vampire's Bride i was wondering what would happen with the others in that book this was a nice epilogue about them.
