Publisher's summary

The most highly-anticipated novel in the Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark-Hunter series since Acheron is here—the unforgettable story of Styxx, Acheron's twin brother and one of the most powerful beings on earth

Just when you thought doomsday was over . . .

Centuries ago Acheron saved the human race by imprisoning an ancient evil bent on absolute destruction. Now that evil has been unleashed and it is out for revenge.

As the twin to Acheron, Styxx hasn't always been on his brother's side. They've spent more centuries going at each other's throats than protecting their backs. Now Styxx has a chance to prove his loyalty to his brother, but only if he's willing to trade his life and future for Acheron's.

The Atlantean goddess of Wrath and Misery, Bethany was born to right wrongs. But it was never a task she relished. Until now.

She owes Acheron a debt that she vows to repay, no matter what it takes. He will join their fellow gods in hell and nothing is going to stop her. But things are never what they seem, and Acheron is no longer the last of his line. Styxx and Acheron must put aside their past and learn to trust each other or more will suffer.

Yet it's hard to risk your own life for someone who once tried to take yours, even when it's your own twin, and when loyalties are skewed and no one can be trusted, not even yourself, how do you find a way back from the darkness that wants to consume the entire world? One that wants to start by devouring your very soul?

Don't Doubt That You'll Love Styxx

I had nearly given up on the Dark Hunter Series after the last couple installments. In fact, I nearly passed over Styxx because I had my doubts that Kenyon could weave him into a character that I could learn to like. Boy was I stunned by her writing genius! Kenyon wove a story of a family. The story revolves around the assumptions each person makes about others within the family and the devastating consequences that are wrought from actions taken based on those assumptions. It is a story of misunderstandings, regrets, and forgiveness. There is also an engaging romance at the forefront of the storyline that is at times sweet and at other times heart-wrenching. But it was really the family dynamic that I found the most fascinating about this installment. If you are a Kenyon fan, don't doubt that you'll love Styxx. The plot is fast paced and engaging and the overall series storyline is significantly advanced in this installment. Old characters take on new depths and there is a much better sense of where this series is headed. This is by far Kenyon's best work since Acheron.

Absolutely Shocked

Would you listen to Styxx again? Why?

Immediately after listening to Styxx, I listened to Acheron again. The Dark Hunter series is by far my favorite series. Like most people, Acheron has been my favorite character....until now. I was stunned at how quickly Styxx became my new favorite hero. After reading both Styxx and Acheron's stories, I am listening to Styxx again and I love it just as much as I did the first time.

What other book might you compare Styxx to and why?

Acheron's of course, but also Zarek's story in Dance with the Devil. Like Zarek, Styxx was greatly misunderstood by all who knew him.

What about Fred Berman’s performance did you like?

I thought Fred Berman did a wonderful job. His wide range of accents was both comical and moving.

Broken lives

One man is his own power.,even if it comes from tragedy. He who does not fight fails. He who never gives up is rewarded.

One of my favourites.

In all honesty, listen to anything by Sherrilyn Kenyon and you'll be amazed.
I loved the narrator and his accents are great (even if they're incorrect). It makes it a lot easier to understand who's speaking. His rendition of Simi's voice is the most adorable thing ever.

"Styxx" A roller coaster ride

What made the experience of listening to Styxx the most enjoyable?

"Styxx" A roller coaster ride. A wonderfully writhing book, I have to be honest I was not really looking forwards to Styxx's story, I did not care much about his character in other books or how bad he was in with Acheron, but I am really thankful that I did listened to it.
The story is dark in a good way, one has to be open minded and ready for the ride that Sherrilyn Kenyon brings into the book.
The story is Long, of all 4 section of the audiobook 3 of them were set before Acheron died and only 8 of the 30+ hrs were set in this millennia, which I think it was a little to much old back ground, not that I mind it at all but it seems to drag to much at times.
In the other hand the las 8 hrs were terrific, it felt rushed at times I did not want it to end sadly it did.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Beth, She seems to know what she want it, to me she is a bum kicker goddess!!

Which scene was your favorite?

Apollymi's revenge, It was quite epic.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes it did,
