Publisher's summary

Window Rock, Arizona, is the last known location of Honor Roberts, who vanished when she was just 13. It was her only sanctuary from the Breed research that would surely have ended in her death - one such insidious experiment should, indeed, have killed her. That she lived is both a miracle - and a great mystery.

Stygian's mission is to find Honor Roberts, no matter the cost. Now, with the help of Liza Johnson, assistant to the chief of the Navajo Nation, he is closer than ever to his goal. But will the discovery of Honor Roberts mean the destruction of the mating heat that has developed between Stygian and Liza?

Not the best of Breeds

I'm not a huge fan of 'The Breeds' stories - I've not read (or listened) to them all. I tend to pick the odd book that appears to have an interesting plot and I've found it easy enough to keep up with what is going on with the Breed story as a whole while missing the odd five or six stories between books. I was in a Breed mood when I saw Stygian's Honor and decided that I would get this. Stygian's Honor follows the Stygian and Liza and the efforts to find two girls (Honor and Fawn) who escaped from a lab around a decade a go. The story was pretty formulaic and anyone who has read any Breed book will be very familiar with the mating heat and all that entails. I was a little disappointed when I reached the end of this story with very little plot wise actually happening. For those of us curious as to what happens(ed) to Honor and Fawn, we will be required to dive into the next book. I personally prefer a story where there is a firm conclusion to a specific tale and felt a little grumbly that if I want to know (and actually, do I?), I'll have to get the next book.

I do like Brianna Bronte's narration and I'm happy to give her five stars. But the story only scores three this time. Having said that, this is book 27 and it would be pretty amazing if a series was still feeling fresh!

TIME FOR A CHANGE

Would you try another book from Lora Leigh and/or Brianna Bronte?

Yes

Has Stygian's Honor turned you off from other books in this genre?

No

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

She has a grasp for different accents. I dislike the misprouncements (machinations). I also dislike the fact that the main characters for each book sounds the same. Tanner should sound like Tanner and Stygian should have his own voice. And Scheme and Honor should not sound alike either. I think that the story lines could be served better if a different person performed them. I don't know use a different person for each book?

What character would you cut from Stygian's Honor?

There are no characters I would cut.

Any additional comments?

It is the same story, just different characters. It is time for a different formula, format or whatever she uses. Also, the story is not always kept straight. In one book Brimm was going to be the assistant director, now Lawe? What happened? I aslo don't like the fact that original characters disappear. Where is Dr. Martin? I wish that more consideration is given to the story lines instead of the sex scenes, which are the same also. I like the Breeds and wish the books would come out faster than they do. But, I think that she needs to change it up some. I also think that she do a prequel about the Leo and Elizabeth. I would like to hear their story. I like the snippets we get in the novels but I think they deserve their own novel.

14HRS of the same drivel

What would have made Stygian's Honor better?

It would have been better if the book was shorter. I felt like I was listening to the same chapter over and over.

What could Lora Leigh have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

The book could have been much shorter. I guess the plot after the first chapter

What didn’t you like about Brianna Bronte’s performance?

I didn't enjoy the book so it made listening to her performance unpleasant

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Stygian's Honor?

I would have cut half the book

Any additional comments?

I don't recoment this one. The book was too long and the heroine unpleasant

BREEDS - Your either a fan or your not.

What did you love best about Stygian's Honor?

I love all these books! On my watch list to read as soon as they are out, same goes for the audio versions. I have found you are either a fan of this 'type' of book or your not. There are a lot of other authors who have written similar story lines along this concept but in my opinion Lora Leigh's Breed's series is the best! Well written, great continuity from book to book and though they are all in the same vein you learn just a little more, you get pulled in that much further with every new book. - I am a huge fan first book to last.

What does Brianna Bronte bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I like her narration, male and female characters. - on my list :)

Zzz

Just more of the same in this series but in this book there is more sex than any plot and even then it ends without saying what happens to the heroine. What's with that? Especially since each book has its own heroine. Maybe I'm just tired of women being portrayed as subservient. Not sure that I will buy any more of this series.

I really don't care for the narrator's male voice it makes all of the men sound like idiots or just plain weird. She's good for the rest of the reading but her men's voices are just plain distracting.

Haven't these poor Breeds suffered enough?

What did you love best about Stygian's Honor?

Jonas Wyatt continues his agonising search for the solution to his adopted daughter's life-threatening condition. Can Stygian's mate provide the answer?

Would you recommend Stygian's Honor to your friends? Why or why not?

This is one of the weaker tales, but a fan of the Breeds series may forgive it's shortcomings.I fear that Lora Leigh is endowing her characters with just too many scenting skills. Envy, determination, frustration? Oh Please! most of us can detect that by looking at someone.

What about Brianna Bronte’s performance did you like?

The reader is consistently good and keeps the story moving along without intruding upon the atmosphere

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There were a couple of moments when I wished that Stygian could run as fast as possible from the spoilt infant that Fate had provided as a mate. Did she have to talk like a 12 year old? A virgin at 27, well no wonder! Nobody but a saint would take her on.

Any additional comments?

I am a big fan of the Breeds books but this one falls short. It felt as if was written for a much younger reader.

Voice actors

A man should’ve been used to act as the guys in the book. I got goosebumps(the unhappy kind) whenever she’d narrate as the man. But overall, I loved the book!

Addicted to this series

Predictable but super awesome! I can not wait for the next book! Please let it be the ending of this story arc not another wild leap around! I want Amber to to finally be well so we can get to finding Cassie's mate!

So, happy Lora took this story where the last books were foreshadowing! Although I must say there were points where I was confused about story points. I had to skim through past books trying to see what I had missed or forgotten. Turns out nothing the author just wrote some parts as though we should know details we were never given.

I will keep reading the breeds because I am loyal to the world created and interested in the characters but I really hope the writing steps up and meets me in a happy place!

Good book to read

Would you consider the audio edition of Stygian's Honor to be better than the print version?

No. I felt the narrator's male voices did not match the characters. Especially previous characters such as Dash and Jonas. She gave more of a brittish accent.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I liked Dog's humor throughout this book.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Male character voices were weak. Hated Stygian and Jonas' voice.

Any additional comments?

This book series really needs to have two narrators a male and female.

Would you listen to Stygian's Honor again? Why?

I would listen to this again and again and again.... Why the headline says it all.

What did you like best about this story?

Breeds are hot, and this book doesn't let you down. Even though you can figure out pretty fast what is going to happen it still gets you every time.

Which scene was your favorite?

There wasn't just one

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me hot, and also made me cry
