Publisher's summary

So how did I get myself into this situation, you ask? Simple: desperation. When you're faced with being homeless and hungry or taking off your clothes for money, the choice is easier than you'd imagine. That doesn't make it simple, though. Oh no. I hate it, in fact. There's nothing I'd like more than to quit and never go into another bar again, never hear the techno beat pulsing in my ears again, never feel the lecherous gazes of horny men again.

Then, one day, I meet a man. He's in my club, front and center. He watches me do my routine, and his gaze is full of hunger. Not the kind of desire I'm used to though. It's something different. Something hotter, deeper, and more possessive. I know who he is. Everyone knows who Dawson Kellor is. He's People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive. He's the hottest actor in Hollywood. He's the man hand-picked for the role of Rhett Butler in the long-awaited remake of Gone with the Wind. He's the kind of man who can have any woman in the entire world with a mere crook of his finger. So what's he doing looking at me like he has to have me? And how do I resist him when he looks at me with those intoxicating, changeable, quicksilver eyes?

I'm a virgin, and he's an American icon of male sexuality. I'm a stripper, and he's a man used to getting anything and everything he wants. And he wants me. I know I should say no, I know he's the worst kind of player...but what my mind knows, my body and my heart may not. And then things get complicated.

I really enjoyed this book

I loved the different characters there where some points that were kind of cheesy.. I wish there was a follow up epilogue. Not really sure why there was do much build up to anal sex when there was really no build up at all to get losing her virginity to me that was a bigger deal with her back story.
over all I enjoyed the book.

Great story with steam

The story line was great, if a bit predictable. It was hot and fun. The only thing I didn't like is the horrible fake southern accent of the narrator.

Very enjoyable

This was a great read. Enjoyed the series. Hopefully there will be more. I like how the chapters alternated character points of view

fifty shades of 'here we go again'

What disappointed you about Stripped?

The obviously romanticized poor mental health of the protagonist. The sheer amount of anxiety induced vomiting- like every fifteen minutes or so, followed by huge amounts of hyperventilation. The waste of such a fun, sexy concept on such a poor delivery.

What do you think your next listen will be?

I'm going to try for something a little more genuinely sexy.

What about Summer Roberts’s performance did you like?

Very strong narration. Good accent, likeable sounding.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Stripped?

I got to exactly the half way point on this before a plot development happened that made me turn off the tape. I would have gone a totally different direction with this.

Any additional comments?

There's some seriously lovely, Pretty Woman-esque potential here, but the book just fails to deliver and collapses in on itself in a cloud of slut-shaming, hair pulling, predictable rot. I'm so disappointed.

Disappointing.

Slow start. Saggy middle. Rushed ending. An independent woman loses it all to a man. Hot sex though.

Stripped My Brain Cells

I found this story about a 20 year old film student incredibly boring (especially the first 2 hours) and too unbelievable for words. Grey goes to LA against her father's wishes, on a scholarship and she DOESN'T think she will need to get a part-time job. No, she waits until she is desperate & hungry, then becomes a stripper... Please! She's on campus for 2 years before asking about the details of her financial aid. Really?

Then a young, attractive millionaire movie star (Dawson, late 20s) comes into the rundown titty bar where Grey works and instantly KNOWS that Grey doesn't belong there. Dawson rescues Grey from herself; there's lots of drama, stupid misunderstandings and insecurity, and eventually hot sex. Dawson miraculously morphs from immature man slut to Knight-in-shining-armor, blah, blah, blah..

Jasinda Wilder is talented with great potential; she wrote some very funny moments and dialogue, However, this book should be listed as a young teen novel or the characters need to act their ages. I think Audible should give more detailed descriptions so that readers have a better idea of the content, such as age level, sexual content and level of violence.

Seriously? Why can't we give 0 stars?

This is about a sheltered daughter of a preacher who runs off to LA to go to college and major in film making. She runs out of money and starts stripping where she meets a heartthrob actor and they fall in love....in like 2 days.

SPOILERS--This story is so dumb and is completely unrealistic even in the fiction world. If this girl isn't sobbing she is dropping names and price tags. She may have been sheltered but come on???? The innocent turn sex kitten back to innocent got exhausting. It was actually painful to listen to and I forced myself to finish it. If it weren't for the sex aspect I would recommend it to a 10 year old. (and I think I'm pretty old fashion!) I found myself getting increasingly irritated with the juvenileness and kept checking to see how much longer I had to be tortured. I cringe at the part where the guy proposes to the girl on stage at the academy awards. I think it tried to have all the "angst battered soul who is rescued by a hot millionaire movie star-ness" but it just was ridiculous. It was so bad I even feel guilty writing this in fear of hurting the authors feelings--sorry Jasinda. It just felll really really short.

However, the narrator did good! :)
