Publisher's Summary

During the rule of her murderous Dark Fae uncle, Thistle "Tricks" Periwinkle found sanctuary among the Wyr in New York. Her ethereal beauty and sparkling personality won the hearts of the public, but after her uncle's death, there are those who don't want to see her ascend to the throne.

Able to wield thunder and lightning, Wyr sentinel Tiago Black Eagle has ruled the skies for centuries. His massive build and thunderous power make him one of the Wyr's best weapons. And he's sent to protect Tricks when she's almost assassinated in Chicago. Soon, both Tiago and Tricks will fall prey to the stormy hunger that engulfs them - a passion that will shake the very foundation of all the worlds.

Also listen to the first book, Dragon Bound.

    "Great Story!!"

This audiobook was so great! This is the second book in Thea Harrison's Elder Races Series and the story was great! I'm a reader who usually reads the book first and then listens to the audiobooks of the series I truly LOVE! I decide this time to use my monthly credit on a book I had not read yet!

I think my favorite part of was how perfect the voice of Niniane was portrayed. The narrator voiced her exactly how I pictured her speaking in my head! The other characters were very well done also!

Overall, a great book worth listening too! AWESOME JOB Ms. Eastlake!! A GREAT JOB goest to Thea Harrison as well....keep them coming!!

    Story
"Lots of suspense... some hot romance"

This is book 2 in the Elder Races series. You don't really need to read them in order since there are barely any references from the previous book. This is the story about Thiago and Tricks. She inherited the Dark Fey throne and someone is out to impede her from becoming the Queen. That's why Thiago goes after her to defend her. I liked this book but it felt kind of long. The romance takes quite a long time to develop and I found myself saying: "do it already darn it!". This story has more suspense than romance and I liked the fact that it was not predictable. I never predicted who the bad guy is. Overall I liked this book and will most likely get the third one in the series but it is not as hot and romantic as the first book. The narrator does a nice job with the different characters although Minion's voice (Tricks) is a little annoying.

"The Dude Has Lightening Bolts in His Eyes!"

This is the second book in the Elder Races series, but it could have been listened to without hearing the first book, Dragon Bound. There are references to things that happened in the first book but not enough so that you would have been lost if you didn’t read it.

This story takes up where the first left off and is the love story of Tricks (cute little dark Fae princess) and Tiago (Big ole Thunderbird). There are many circumstances that keep Tricks and Tiago apart including themselves. Although they both feel an attraction to each other, they are hesitant to take the big step that will mate them for life.

There are also many Dark Fae that don’t want Tricks to ascend to the throne so every once in a while there will be an assassination attempt on her. Between the assassination attempts and the friends that are trying to keep them apart, the world just seems against the possibility of Tricks and Tiago ever being together.

This story had a slow build up to the ultimate conclusion. There was a point where I was just thinking ‘get on with it and mate already will ya?’ but that is just my impatient self. Overall it is a good second book and I believe those that enjoyed the first book, Dragon Bound, will also enjoy this story.

    The Narration Review
This audiobook was narrated by Sophie Eastlake who was also the narrator for the first book. She has a great story telling voice that is very easy to listen to. Sophie sounds youngish, so I always blush for her when she has to say sexually explicit things. LoL

"Tiago - a Hot Black Eagle for Everyone"

This is book 2 in the series, but you don't really need to read book 1 first to enjoy this one. Tiago Black Eagle ("Thunderbird") has ruled the skys with lightening and thunder for centuries. He is big, strong and scares most people on sight. "Tricks" is the Heir to the Dark Fea thrown. Tricks is very pixie, sweet, upbreat and kind person who needs protection. Someone is trying to kill Tricks, so Tiago travels with her back to her homeland to protect her. There is lots of suspense - I did not figure out who the bad guy was until the end. This book had it all - hot sex, suspense, romance and strong characters that you really liked. I can't wait to read book #3!

I spend 90+ minutes a day in my car, Audible makes it enjoyable regardless of what's happening in traffic. My taste varies from endurance fitness to economics and from to combat stories and romance novels.

"Was my favorite of the series until book 6 release"

What more could you want from the sci-fi/romance genre? This book had it all for me. Great humor, lovable characters, hot sex, and a good story line. This was definitely my favorite of the series until book 6 came out recently, and that's taken the lead for me. Still, this one is not to be missed.

    "Love this series"

This was slightly less awesome than the first, but that is not saying anything bad about it! It's just that the first book created such a high standard for me. I LOVE Tiago and Tricks. The character development in this book is really good. Sophie Eastlake is perfect for the narration.

    "Thoroughly Enjoyed"
Where does Storm's Heart rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Suppose I am just providing feedback from a fan rather than reviewing... I thoroughly enjoyed the story and the narrator performance. I hope there are many more books in the series and that all the characters reappear from time to time in subsequent books. That all relationships and lives, progress and friendships either stay in tact (re-unite) in some way shape or form. In other words I hope Minian and Tiago re-appear (loved their story, passion), Ruin and Carling, Dragos and sentinals continue relationship even though evolving (there is a hint of it in Lords Fall).

Guess I agree with other review that this story might have had a little slower build up, so did the Serpant's Kiss and Oracles Moon, the joining of Dragos and Pia in the first book happened much earlier in the story (and more frequently than other books in series). Also, would like to see Minian and Tiago (maybe even the other characters in subsequent books) have opportunity for marriage and family too (though I guess it is a bit old fashioned of me).

    Anyway, thoroughly enjoyed the story/book/series.

Sophie Eastlake does an outstanding job of narrating!

    Which scene was your favorite?

The scene in the bar, and the hotel scenes.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Sorry, I am not really answering the question but would like to say...

If this and/or other books are ever made into a film I hope there is alot of attention paid to select actors who look like the characters described in the book. And that all the key scenes are included. I have seen a number of films recently where I think this was not done and I was very disappointed.
