Publisher's summary

During the rule of her murderous Dark Fae uncle, Thistle "Tricks" Periwinkle found sanctuary among the Wyr in New York. Her ethereal beauty and sparkling personality won the hearts of the public, but after her uncle's death, there are those who don't want to see her ascend to the throne.

Able to wield thunder and lightning, Wyr sentinel Tiago Black Eagle has ruled the skies for centuries. His massive build and thunderous power make him one of the Wyr's best weapons. And he's sent to protect Tricks when she's almost assassinated in Chicago. Soon, both Tiago and Tricks will fall prey to the stormy hunger that engulfs them - a passion that will shake the very foundation of all the worlds.

thoroughly enjoyable

I really enjoyed the story and the narrator. The author is really making me want to read more about these characters. I can't wait to read the next book.

Book 2 elder races still good

I really love this reader for Thea Harrison's elder races books. While storms heart was almost just as good as the first installment, I did feel as though the it was almost a copy cat in setup. Niniane's character is one that I like a lot, however her and Tiago's relationship didn't have the same fire that Pia and Dragos had in the first book. Still enjoyable though, and I will continue on with serpents kiss.

Not as good as the first one, but still awesome!

This is the story of T-bird and Trix....Trix is being asked to take on a new role of ruling her people as Queen, it is her right by her bloodline, the thought to be long lost Dark Fae Princess has come out of hiding to take her place on the throne. Not everyone is thrilled that the princess has returned....and so the assassination attempts commence!

T-bird, one of the 7 Sentinels of the Wehyre people (sorry for my spelling guys I listened to it, I didn’t actually see these names spelled out) volunteers to go looking for Trix after an iPhone video surfaces on CNN that shows her own people turning on Trix, in an attempt to kill her, and she flees. T-bird tracks her down…and they become close….very close.

One thing that bugged me about this book was that it just felt it was a go, then not a go, then it was back on, only to be put on hold…a lot of yanking my chain to get to the “good stuff”, we got there eventually, but it wasn’t as powerful as in the first book. It was well worth the price and I will continue with the series…actually I already have and book three is awesome again!

Don't judge a book by it's cover OR title

....both of which are pretty cheesy 😊 I loved this book and the 1st in it's series. Both are great urban, modern fantasies. Both are funny. And both are hot damn (!) sexy!

great story!

Book 1 was an interesting dip into a new world of some familiar paranormal figures and some new ones. Book 2 takes us deeper into that world with charactets we love and hate, and those that will be missed.

Can't wait to read the next one!

The Elder Races series is excellent! I love the mix of adventure, fantasy, and love. This book falls short of Dragon Bound but is still worth the listen. I am looking forward to book 3. I am thankful that my husband got me into audible. I didn't think I would like listening to books but Sophie Eastlake is a superb narrator.

Stormed my Heart

This was so good - equally great in comparison to each book in this series. The author's storytelling is compelling. And, in audio, the rich story is truly brought to life. I felt as if I was immersed in this fantastical world.

Start the series with book one.
