Publisher's summary

During the rule of her murderous Dark Fae uncle, Thistle "Tricks" Periwinkle found sanctuary among the Wyr in New York. Her ethereal beauty and sparkling personality won the hearts of the public, but after her uncle's death, there are those who don't want to see her ascend to the throne.

Able to wield thunder and lightning, Wyr sentinel Tiago Black Eagle has ruled the skies for centuries. His massive build and thunderous power make him one of the Wyr's best weapons. And he's sent to protect Tricks when she's almost assassinated in Chicago. Soon, both Tiago and Tricks will fall prey to the stormy hunger that engulfs them - a passion that will shake the very foundation of all the worlds.

Great Follow Up

What did you love best about Storm's Heart?

I wasn't expecting the character focus of this second installment. It was nice to listen to the story unfolding.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Tiago. What a great character. I was expecting the neanderthal thing, but he had some unexpected depths and some pretty hot dialogue.

What does Sophie Eastlake bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Again, the ability to look forward to Miami traffic.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

CHICK FLICK

Any additional comments?

If you use audible for entertainment, this is just the ticket. Thea Harrison writes well and Ms. Eastlake is a great narrator.

Captivating

Excellent read! The main character was and emotional mess almost the entire time which is very unlike the impression I formed of her from book 1, so it was a little disappointing but still very enjoyable.

I almost miss an amazing book

I don't usually take the time to write reviews but I felt compelled to in this case because of the semi-negative reviews on this book. I almost didn't read the book based on the reviews - it's a good thing that I couldn't resist based on the first book in the series!

There's a lot of criticism that Tricks is too whiny, or too shallow. I just don't see it at all. She is a conflicted young fae who has lived safely among the Wyr for most of her adult life. She likes nice clothes, makeup, heels and she aren't very happy that she has to give up her current life to go become the Dark Fae Queen. Is anyone surprised - I mean gosh - everyone is trying to assassinate her - she shouldn't complain about that a bit and wish to keep her current life were the most she had to worry about was the color lipstick she wanted to wear? As far as the comments about her "using too much baby talk" - I don't see that either. The only reason I noticed it at all in the book was because of reviewers' comments.

I see this as a "coming of age" story for Tricks and the fae is made of steel under all the fluffy stuff and sticks to what she knows is right. She vacillates at times and wishes for her old life at other times, but to me, that just makes her more genuine. Her relationship with Tiago is awesome - what's not to like? So I say READ IT - it fully lives up to the first book...and wait till you read the third book...even better!

Hard to rate!!

It was a great story and the narrator did an incredible job narrating!!!

There were only a few things that bothered me a bit. First, the biggest issue I had was there were SO MANY characters. It was hard to follow along with who was who and who did what.....I needed a character tree just to piece everything together.
Second, I wasn't a huge fan of "Trix's" voice however I do think it fit her character perfectly so I just had to push through ha.

Overall, I knew who the bad guy was the second their character was introduced (I even predicted the reason they were the bad guy ha) but it was a good story and I would recommend.

Wow!

Would you listen to Storm's Heart again? Why?

This is definitely not a cerebral endeavor, instead it is a bit of fantasy that keeps you laughing and wanting more. Every woman's fantasy is to be protected though I doubt I would be able to withstand Tiago's style. The book was fun, fun, fun and a great way to escape the realities of life. Loved it!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Storm's Heart?

There were so many but I was touched by the toughness of Tricks and the gentleness of Tiago.

Which character – as performed by Sophie Eastlake – was your favorite?

The author did a great job of capturing her characters. The language and the humor was perfect.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Nothing she was great!

Any additional comments?

Read this book, it is so much fun and personally I feel it is well written.

Great character development

I love these books because the characters are so entertaining and multidimensional. Some of the word choices in the intimate scenes is a little off, but story and character more than make up for the occasional word twinge.

Getting hooked pretty easily!

So far I'm finding it pretty easy to get into these books quickly, and they hold my attention all the way to the end. The stories have been well written and full of action. I like that they are not making me wait too long for anything of significance to happen. The leading characters are well written and performed with substance. The story lines have all been intriguing and have kept me wanting to continue the series. Each book is so well written that I have read them out of order and still enjoyed them all. That only happens if you are able to pick up and understand just were you are in the complete story line, and so far Thea Harrison is batting 100%! I am truly loving the Elder Races Series!

Sophie Eastlake has a good grasp on each character, and I have not found myself being irritated with any of the voices. Good job!
