Publisher's summary

During the rule of her murderous Dark Fae uncle, Thistle "Tricks" Periwinkle found sanctuary among the Wyr in New York. Her ethereal beauty and sparkling personality won the hearts of the public, but after her uncle's death, there are those who don't want to see her ascend to the throne.

Able to wield thunder and lightning, Wyr sentinel Tiago Black Eagle has ruled the skies for centuries. His massive build and thunderous power make him one of the Wyr's best weapons. And he's sent to protect Tricks when she's almost assassinated in Chicago. Soon, both Tiago and Tricks will fall prey to the stormy hunger that engulfs them - a passion that will shake the very foundation of all the worlds.

The Dark Fae’s story

If you follow the Elder Races, you want to read this book; the second in the series. It is well written and gives insights into the Dark Fae court.

I have no explanation why, but these characters and the book are not my favorite in the series. My favorite parts of the story are when Pia gives Tiago Black Eagle an earful (re Niniane Lorelle, formerly Trix, head of PR for Dragos Cuelebre, head of the Wyr demesne); and when Rune meets Carling.

Eastlake does a decent job of narration, but does a better job with female voices.

Lots of suspense... some hot romance

This is book 2 in the Elder Races series. You don't really need to read them in order since there are barely any references from the previous book. This is the story about Thiago and Tricks. She inherited the Dark Fey throne and someone is out to impede her from becoming the Queen. That's why Thiago goes after her to defend her. I liked this book but it felt kind of long. The romance takes quite a long time to develop and I found myself saying: "do it already darn it!". This story has more suspense than romance and I liked the fact that it was not predictable. I never predicted who the bad guy is. Overall I liked this book and will most likely get the third one in the series but it is not as hot and romantic as the first book. The narrator does a nice job with the different characters although Minion's voice (Tricks) is a little annoying.

Tiago - a Hot Black Eagle for Everyone

This is book 2 in the series, but you don't really need to read book 1 first to enjoy this one. Tiago Black Eagle ("Thunderbird") has ruled the skys with lightening and thunder for centuries. He is big, strong and scares most people on sight. "Tricks" is the Heir to the Dark Fea thrown. Tricks is very pixie, sweet, upbreat and kind person who needs protection. Someone is trying to kill Tricks, so Tiago travels with her back to her homeland to protect her. There is lots of suspense - I did not figure out who the bad guy was until the end. This book had it all - hot sex, suspense, romance and strong characters that you really liked. I can't wait to read book #3!

Love like no other

If you could sum up Storm's Heart in three words, what would they be?

I'm not good at expressing my feelings! This book has captured my thoughts and taken me to a world that I could thrive in!

Who was your favorite character and why?

The storm King, he took what he wanted and stood by his word!

Good story , narrate needs to pick up the pace

Narrator speaks tooooo slow. Had to turn it to speed talking. Good story but the draggyness of her speaking made me feel impatient. Looking forward though to rest of series (just on a faster speed).

Not quite as great as first one, but still good.

I have to say I loved the hero, Tiago. But I didn't care much for the heroine. Actually, one of my least favorite kinds of females are the ones where the author keeps talking about how tiny they are, their tiny feet and hands, etc. (Shades of Feehan's Dark series) I also have little patience with so much emphasis on pink nail polish and 4-inch heels, etc. That's a lot of why I loved Pia in the first book. She was so real and no nonsense. Otherwise, the story itself was pretty good and had a goodly amount of action and steamy romance. The narrator again did a pretty good job.
