What a sweet story

I loved this story. It’s full of heart and happiness and looks at regular life. Delightful!

Good story....

The book /storyline started out with a very good story concept ...but then there were a lot of inconsistencies with the storyline. It took a while to figure out who Diane was to Van in the story ...then how week-backbone, tht Van had was annoying. But,the narration was good, loved the Jersey accent.

A fun read !

I really enjoyed this book. It was lighthearted and funny. Loved the characters and the narrator was excellent. A good book for dog lovers too.

A cute chick-lit story with a light romance

The story of Savanna (Van) as she comes to terms with all the uncontrollable people and events in her life, and learns to take some control in order to find peace and happiness. A cute story told in first person from Savanna's point-of-view, including a nice light romance and a 100 pound dog too.

The narrater was great too, I'd listen to more by her.

A little slow to get started. The middle bogs down for a bit, but the resolution is worth wading through the rest. The characters flesh out nicely and become multi dimensional. Some nice detail of upstate and downstate New York cultures and migration. A storming story moving on from childhood and college to a more mature, less fantasy ridden adulthood.

Not for kids, but a great story

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. BUT don't listen to it where sensitive ears might overhear. Language is quite bad. That said, I will be looking for other books by the author.

What aspect of Julia Whelan’s performance would you have changed?

My only problem with the entire performance is that all the sort of love interest aged men in the book have odd, disinterested voices that come across as kind of above it all and schmucky. I don't think that's how they were written, just how they were performed. So there are definitely parts that were supposed to be light banter or plain conversation where I thought,

What did you love best about Stay?

The writing is phenomenal. It is a great story. I really love the main character, and all the characters. I listen to this often! I am waiting impatiently for Allie Larkin to give us another story, please. The Pup is fantastic!

What did you like best about this story?

I like where the story goes, it is such a good "coming of age" story, albeit the main character is a bit older.

What about Julia Whelan’s performance did you like?

She is just so realistic.

Sappy and Cute

This is very cute novel. Especially if you love dogs. You’ll love this simple story about a women and her dog.
