Evan: They tell you that a parent's love is all consuming. I never put much thought into it. Not until the minute I heard her take her first breath. That little girl is my world. I'd do anything to protect her. My ex signed over her rights, and her family vowed that my daughter didn't exist. Now that she's gone, they want my little girl. They're trying to say I can't give her what she needs.
McKinley: I've known Evan all my life. Our family's farms run parallel with each other. He and my brother Aaron have been best friends for as long as I can remember. What they're trying to do is wrong. He needs my help, someone he can trust, and I'm more than happy to do it. I volunteered without hesitation. I should have thought about what it would be like to have our lives intertwined. I should have thought about what would happen when our time together ended and how my heart would feel when I had to walk away.

To be fair, it's not the best written story ever, but if you're tired of manwhores and irresponsible man-boys, give this book a try. Evan is a stand up guy and I really liked McKinley. This is a slow burn book, and I like that. Frankly, there aren't enough of those out there.
This book was a real feel good about the unspoken love between two people. It shows that there can be a love that is unspoken between two people. There relationship starts out as two people needing each other for one reason then turns into a completely different one for each other. This story is about pushing your love aside for the betterment of the child and what is best for their life before all else. LOVED this book i wish there was a second one with the continuation of there story. The only thing that i didn't like is that the author skips over what i thought would have been really important moments in the two mains lives that would have helped show there unspoken love for one another. This book is great for a drive in the car. Not a lot of intimate moments that turn your face red but unspoken gestures to show the purity of there relationship.
I am obsessed with audio books! My favorite genre is erotica and romance -- there's just not enough hours in the day to enjoy ...
This was a sweet and unassuming romance that doesn't offer much excitement. I will say that Kaylee Ryan deserves a much improved ribbon as I was at least able to listen to this one to the end. The plot and the characters are still simple and bland. The premise was good with lots of potential it just lacks passion.
The narration is marginal at best but their voices were listenable (is that a word?). I enjoy Joe Arden's voice so that was motivation to finish.
This maybe worth a reduced price but not a credit. Since I've already purchased the next book in the series, I will listen to it.
This book is WELL worth the credit and not just because of the cover! It was great from start to finish and the narrators did an excellent job!
I would absolutely listen to it again. The innocent love and fight to protect his unborn child melts my heart
My favorite moment is when Evan is talking with Lexi and making confessions to his infant
Loved the book, the narration, overall story and performance was spot on perfect! Been a long while since I have had a good laugh with the perfect ending!
For the record... I made it to hour 2 and gave up. I had high hopes for this story, saw the reviews and got excited. I'm apparently in the 8% because here I am with this review. The narration was painful and the whole thing was irritating. Worst fake southern accent in history and the story was just.. I don't even know honestly. It rubbed me the wrong way. Maybe it was just the narration because the plot seemed like a great idea but then it had far too much dialogue that was extremely unnecessary. Honestly, I wish I had more to give on it but it was hard to put my finger on just one thing. I'm very surprised this had so many good reviews.
I enjoyed this audiobook about a young man who becomes a single father unexpectedly. His girlfriend wants nothing to do with the baby and signs away her parental rights to him. His best friend has a sister, who has also been his friend since childhood. She begins helping him get ready for when the baby is born and starts to fall in love with him. When the birth mothers parents threaten a custody suit, she offers to marry him to help him keep the baby. They fall in love with each other, but neither one tells the other. The end moved a little slow, but overall a good audiobook.
I received this book in exchange for my unbiased review through Audiobook Boom.
It was long and borderline angsty but good. Wish the main characters would've come to terms with their feelings much sooner.
