What's worse than having to watch your sister marry your ex-fiancé? How about when that fiancé fires you from the family business?
Hyper-organized, event planner, Jaya Trudeaux is used to doing things by the book and never making waves. It's a strategy that's served her well until she finds herself in failure alley with no fiancé, no job and her thirtieth birthday looming. Maybe it's time to change her methods. Starting with an unlikely date to the wedding from hell.
The only thing that can tie carefree, playboy, Alec Danthers down is his formidable step mother. When she calls him home to help find his wayward brother, he never imagines an uptight, list making, sass-talking woman would make him think about putting down roots.
Can Jaya put the lists down long enough to enjoy the ride that is Alec? Will Alec stop running long enough to recognize true love?
Warning: Sexy, sass talking women will make you laugh, cry and want a pair of killer footwear.

Loving books :) Quick and honest reviews.
Yes, the book was good. Some of the terms was off putting because its not a realistic word used by normal people. "Hanky panky"
Typical romance book but more steamy than most.
The accents of some of the characters were very strange. The father was really out there.
It would be an adult film if it was made into a movie. WAY to hot and steamy for a movie theater showing.
Really good read. Loved the story. predictable but the sex scenes were legit.
This was my first listen/story by this author, and I really enjoyed it. I would've liked for the narrator to sound more convincingly African-American (recognizing all Black people don't sound the same) to lend more authenticity to the telling. But, overall, the narrator still did a good job. But, in this instance, the narrator didn't carry the story; the story was good on it's own. And the narrator did it justice in large part. I really enjoyed the humor and heat most of all. It had small instances of explicit language, very very briefly. And the ending was a bit unconvincing, but I love love so.... I will look for this author again.
Books give a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything. - Plato
The story was pretty good and kept me interested but because of the descriptive nature of the sexual encounters, this audiobook should probably be listed under the Erotica category.
The narrator did a pretty good job. I would like to listen to some more books she has done.
Alec is a wealthy man but he lets Jaya think he is a bartender. He is only supposed to be in town for a couple of weeks but he meets someone that makes him question his lifestyle.
Jaya is fired from her family company and is trying hard to find a new job but nobody is returning her emails or phone calls. Someone is trying to keep her from succeeding. Jaya gets involved with Alec. What was supposed to be a one night stand leads to much more than they both expected.

dressy, sexy and cute
wouldn't change it...
her voice was really good to listen to
I really liked Sexy in Stilettos by Nana Malone. The story was fun, sexy, had a little mystery and danger and we'll developed and likable characters. I listened to the audio version and the narrator was excellent. Great at making each characters voice unique and read at a smooth pace with just the right amount of emotion when called for. I'm definitely interested in more from this author. 4.5 stars.
The book was okay. It seems to me that the love interests of this particular genre is usually emasculated or close to it. While I read the books for the love story and what could be, I'd like there to be some realism in the story. A common theme I notice (in other books as well) is the over-bearing, over exaggerating, unwilling to listen, dead set in her way, always feels like the victim, female protagonist of the story.
I semi enjoyed this book but sadly found it hard going in parts , for me the narrator certainly made it listenerable as I nearly switched it off on more than one occasion , I received this book via audio blast so thankful I never paid for it as I think I would have returned it . I like books to be re listens ,
I suppose i carried on listening to see if Jaya would get her own back for being fired by her father and Ex
ok I'll tell you right up front, it took me several false starts before I finally forced myself to get into this book. Now whether that was because my mind was wandering due to a lot going on lately or the book just didn't grab me, I don't know. And I will admit to owning several thousand audio books, half of which I've never read because I just can't get started. And sometimes I read a book from that batch, and it turns out to be excellent, I just had to be in the right mood for it.
So once I got into this book it was actually pretty good. Just 2 minor problems: 1) the narrator was pretty good, but her male voices weren't great, as though her throat was so tense trying to do a male voice, it was barely able to be forced from her........and it wasn't good, also volume on male voices was very low, so I wound up either blasting my eardrums with the female or struggling to understand what the male voice was saying. Also, all male and all female voices are the same. In this particular book, that part didn't really matter. Other than that the narrator was one of the better ones I've listened to. 2) Even though in the end I turned out liking the book, I had a really hard time identifying with and caring about the characters. Both H&h seemed very callous, and also the chick was very wealthy, and I'm supposed to feel sorry for someone who is wealthy who doesn't happen to currently have a job? Not happening! I never really wound up caring much about either of them.....if I did, it might have been a 5! So the author didn't do a great job developing her characters, but it was an ok job.
On top of those issues, the premise was kind of hard to believe. Daddy fires daughter from family business? But ok, sometimes we hafta take these things to get a good book, so I guess I managed to live with it :O)
I'm a pretty tough scorer..........rarely give a 5 so this book is def worth a credit and a few hours of your time.
I love reading in all forms...but audiobook gives me that little extra to highlight that experience.
I would add more dept to the storyline
Narrator did good...I was satisfied but not thrilled
I don't think so
