Publisher's summary

In order to save his friend's life, Wyr sentinel Rune Ainissesthai made a bargain with Vampyre Queen Carling - without knowing what she would ask from him in return. But when Rune attempts to make good on his debt, he finds a woman on the edge.

Recently, Carling's power has become erratic, forcing her followers to flee in fear. Despite the danger, Rune is drawn to the ailing Queen and decides to help her find a cure for the serpent's kiss - the vampyric disease that's killing her.

With their desire for each other escalating just as quickly as Carling's instability spirals out of control, the sentinel and the Queen will have to rely on each other if they have any hope of surviving the serpent's kiss.

Rune and Carling

Love this series. I’ve read all the stories. This story is great by the end. There might be a bit to much time spent on Rune’s internal thoughts on Carling. But my opinion on that minimizes when I finish the story. This couple is important throughout the series. I definitely recommend reading this story and the rest.
It’s important to study all the books in this series. Make sure you do not hastily buy the short stories alone. They are also included in box sets so you can get like three stories with one token.

I’d give more stars if I could

Wonderful work on this book. Scientific, fantasy, sexy, romantic, action, funny, and more.
Loving this series. Second book was not my favorite but book three pulled me back in. Will get you blushing and laughing.
Thanks to the author and reader for doing a fantastic job.

This book is GOOD!

To negate all the NEGATIVE reviews
I’ve listened to the 2 preceding books from this series (Dragon Bound and Storm’s Heart). When I read the reviews about this book I actually thought of skipping it all together but then decided to give it a chance. So far I am about 3hours in and I am LOVING it! I actually love it more than Strom’s Heart not because of anything in particular - I just like this book better. The book is definitely NOT bad or boring. It is fun as much as the first one. I will write an update as soon as I am finished but I just wanted to write a positive review since all the negative reviews threw me off when I was contemplating to buy this book.

Might just be my favorite in the series!

Okay, the first book, Dragonbound was HOT, and so very cool to read. Book two had me scratching my head a bit and saying...well maybe number one was a fluke, but book three, is OMG SHE IS SO BACK!!!!

This is the story of Rune...Dragos's first in command, the strongest of the griffins and what the world sees as the hottest of the Griffins...he is walking talking breathing seduction...until he meets Carling in Book 2, and then his world stops....he can't think...he can't reason...he is flying off the handle and yet he doesn't know why, he just knows he is on edge and now he has to go to Carling, one of the oldest vampires on the planet because he swore he would...he is already in a cruddy mood, so this is just icing on the cake.

The chemistry between them is H-O-T, and this story is an intricately woven fairly tale to rival them all! I just really love this series, there is so much action, and so much loving and it all equals up to a great read!

Enjoyable

First off, I really enjoy that Thea Harrison makes each of the books in the Elder Series interconnected with each other, they work well as stand alone books as well.

Sophie Eastlake does an amazing job narrating the books - I really look forward to more from this narrator.

The Story - I found the entire book enjoyable. The story's pace was a little slower in the first half then the second half. The ending was very well done in my opinion. If you enjoyed the other two books, then you will likely find this one just as interesting.

There are a couple of chars that I would really like to see more of, and I hope that Thea Harrison explores in future books - I suspect the plan is to go through sentinels, but it be wonderful to see some of the other interesting chars worked on as well.

Great Listen!!!

If you could sum up Serpent's Kiss in three words, what would they be?

Worth the listen!

What did you like best about this story?

Rune going back in time and the changes it makes.

Have you listened to any of Sophie Eastlake’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

She does a good job and I've been very pleased with her as always.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes

Any additional comments?

It's well worth the credit.

well written, delightful, quite impressive

having not been impressed with the first two in this series, my friends had to literally dare me to try one more time. I am so glad I did. the characters were fleshed out, far greater substance in the individuals who were part of but not the main characters. A story was told that was worth hearing, instead of the constant reference to sexual matters and same old patterns, a story was told of love, loss, growth, of characters. Physical references were minimal and when appropriate. this one I keep. well done. should I try the 4th? I will read the reviews and then decide but this one can stand alone and should be considered adult but not over done.

rare for the third book to be the best so far

If you could sum up Serpent's Kiss in three words, what would they be?

scintillating believable romance

What other book might you compare Serpent's Kiss to and why?

The first book with Pia and Dragos was great. The second was kind of creepy - who can envision a 4ft+ pixie with a Thunderdbird ? There was no reason for them to be with one another. I debated about getting book three but glad I did. This is a great book with a suspenseful mystery, believable adult lovers and magick!

My new favorite paranormal romance.

I losten to books on my hourlong commute. Try not to waste them on other time so I can allways have something to listen too on the commute. Not possible with this book. Couldnt wait to finnish it. Only bad part is that it was over too soon.

Better than #2

I liked Ninian's story, but it was Tiago that carried it, and it wasn't as strong a story as #1. In this one, we have the strongest h yet, and the Love Throughout Time trope is one of my favorites. We meet two new characters who get their own future book. Looking forward to it.
