Publisher's summary

Indy Savage is a former wild child (okay, maybe not so "former") and current used-bookstore owner. Lee Nightingale is a former bad boy and now runs a private investigation service. Toss together a quiet barista with a not-so-lawful side-business, a crazy Vietnam Vet, a pothead, a drag queen, family and friends who will not mind their own business, a few stun guns, and a bag of diamonds, and mix them all up with some shootings, a high-speed chase and car bombs exploding, then hang on for your first wild Rock Chick ride.

Fun book!

Review This was a very fun book. Indie was crazy and I loved all the trouble she got into. Lee was smokin hot and I enjoyed how exasperated he got with her. There were tons of great side characters that just added to story and my enjoyment.

It’s almost always the hero resisting commitment that when I find a book where the roles are reversed, I’m pretty much guaranteed to love it. I want to see the boy chase the girl, not the other way around. Indie sent Lee on quite the Chase. And Lee chased in a very caveman way. It was awesome!

There was only one thing that bothered me and I’m just going to pretend it didn’t happen because I refuse to let it ruin such a fun book. But. What the heck was that lame ass reason for not pursuing Indie sooner??? He’s been in love with her forever and instead of pursuing her sooner, he pushed her away and had lots of other relationships until he deemed it was time to pursue her. The only thing that mollified me was the book started at their beginning and I only heard about what should never be talked about again. So I’m ignoring that it ever happened.

I listened to the Audiobook and I highly recommend it! The narrator was awesome and I didn’t hate her male voice. That is high praise right there.

Love Indy and Lee

What did you love best about Rock Chick?

I love Indy, but I think I love Lee more. What's not to love? He is calm, cool and collected faced with dangerous situations. He is also a saint to put up with Indy putting herself in dangerous situations. All. The. Time. I was going to tell him to lock her up, or put her in witness protection. The only thing I don't like in this story is how long we have to wait for them to do the deed. Don't even get me started about the the secondary charaters.

Good story, brisk pace, no dull moment. I love it.

What other book might you compare Rock Chick to and why?

None I can think of right now

Have you listened to any of Susannah Jones’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No....

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Indy was kidnapped the last time.

LOVE this Series!!!

I love Alpha Male characters & Sassy, Strong Women characters, and this book had Both in spades! It also has comedy which is always a plus. It was none stop action packed with plenty of comic relief. The love story was written fabulously not to much and not to little. I definitely recommend all of Kristen Ashley books, but the Rock Chick Series is one of my favorites!

Lovely listen

This was my first time l listening to a Kristen Ashley book. I loved it! The narrator put a different spin on some scenes in the book for me, and definitely pronounced some names differently than I did in my head. This book made driving and commuting seem not so bad!

F-ing Lee

I want more of their story! The perfect blend of lust, fate, and action. I wish the other books were about this pair, but I'm sure they'll still be great.

Lovable and Fun book

I love the whole Rock Chick series. The characters are witty and the life of the party. I want to jump in the books and befriend the whole posse. They are quirky but also the cool kids that everyone wants to be around. The girls all get sassy, the guys are badasses, and the dialogue is hysterical. These are a feel good series with cutesy tug-of-war attraction, not quite enemies to lovers. They are all living semi average lives when big things happen, yet they dont lose their humor. Just a funny, goofy group of people.

good idea for story BUT main character is immature

What did you love best about Rock Chick?

story line, in general;

Would you recommend Rock Chick to your friends? Why or why not?

no- the main character, India, behaves like a 13 year old in her relationships- immature to the point of annoyance

What about Susannah Jones’s performance did you like?

good representation

Any additional comments?

will not listen to remainder of series

Fluffy, formulaic series

Fluffy and fun, the first book (and best) in a series of love stories is enjoyable and fairly well written. Indy Savage owns a used-bookstore/cafe where an amusing group of friends gathers regularly. Indy meets Lee Nightingale who owns a private investigation company. Lee moves in, after knowing Indy since childhood, as he protects her from a crazy succession of attacks caused by the side business of a cafe employee. Some grammatical problems, but because it's written in first person, this could be intentional.

About the series: I have listened to books 1 - 6 and found each one a repeat of the first love story. In fact, the love interests from one book to the next are so closely matched in characteristics that the author must have copied some of the dialog word-for-word. Still, they offer adequate entertainment, especially if you listen to other authors in between listening to books in this series.
