Publisher's summary

For vampire Aidan Murphy, life has never been so desperate. The vaccine used to treat a global pandemic has rendered human blood deadly to his kind, leaving them on the brink of starvation and civil war. In tiny Penton, Alabama, Aidan establishes a peaceful community of vampires and unvaccinated human donors. He dares to hope they can survive - until his estranged brother descends upon Penton and begins killing the humans. Determined to save his town, Aidan kidnaps an unsuspecting human doctor…and finds himself falling in love for the first time in nearly four centuries.

Dr. Krystal Harris thought she was coming to Penton for a job interview, but Aidan Murphy has other plans. Infuriated by his high-handed scheme to imprison her in the small town, Krys can’t ignore the attraction between them. But is it love? Or does her dangerous, charismatic captor want only to bend her to his will?

Performance average at best but story good!

In general the story is engaging and suspenseful. The performance is just alright. Romantic scenes are read like a recipe - boooring! And I've just started the second with an even less than adequate narrator. A few minutes in and absolutely no differentiation between characters. So annoying! Don't know why a female narrator was selected since most characters are male. Sheesh. Who makes these decisions and do they read the books first???

OK! Where has this author been hiding?

Really good book and I plan to get the second in the series. This series does just suck you in and keeps your interest. The narrator is the best, Angela Dawe. I really enjoyed her. Can't wait to get to the second book so I'll cut this review short. Believe me, worth the cost.

Victoria Palmer's Review

a well done entertaiining vampire read with, be warned, adult sex scenes which if kept out would not detract from the story. Except for that, I. thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend it to fans of Vampire stories.

Engaging Series

Starts off a little slow, but makes up for it later on . Good series. Have read the first two. They actually have an engaging plot, where the protagonists battle something worth fighting for a cooperative society. I'd give a re-read for sure

It was okay

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

probably not. only because the story teller didnt seem to take breath and the lines/words seem to ran into each other. She didn't have any character to her talking. The reading was very bland. it was hard to work who was actually talking some times.

Would you recommend Redemption to your friends? Why or why not?

same reason as the first one

What didn’t you like about Angela Dawe’s performance?

She didnt seem to take breath and the lines/words seem to ran into each other. She didn't have any character to her talking. The reading was very bland. it was hard to work who was actually talking some times.

I did like her voice though :)

Was Redemption worth the listening time?

The story line was good. it would have been alot better if the reader was different. (sorry)

Any additional comments?

nope

Good book series, bad narration

I love the storyline. The narration is painful. I almost decided to give up on it.

Love those Alabama Vampires

Being from a small town in Alabama I enjoyed this book about a band of vampires trying to survive in rural Alabama. I enjoy vampire genre and this is a good start to a series. The plot is interesting and it has it's "sexy" moments. Of course your introduced to other sexy vampires who you want to know about. It was well worth my credit.

It's over....dang it.

This was a nice touch for this Genre. There is nothing better than a dark brooding vampire looking for redemption.

I would recommend this to friends that enjoy a vampire read.

I really liked the characters and was sad to see them go as the book ended. I want to know more about Chris and Adian so I hope there is more of them in the next book in the series.

I had to get uses to the narrator. I felt like it was very clipped at first but after a while it was fine.

All in all I really enjoyed it

Typical Vampire Romance.

If you like vampire books this is a typical vampire romance. I did enjoy it but it really didn't have anything new and I would give it a 3.5 overall. In fact it reminded me of the TV version of True Blood a bit. I didn't always understand the reasoning behind some of actions of the characters and the whole Stockholm Syndrome part was a bit of a stretch to believe. I have had this book in my library for some time now and since Amazon had the rest of the series on sale thru the Whispersync program I figured I would go ahead and read it in case I want to get the rest. At this point I am debating on continuing on. Narrator is good I have enjoyed her in the past with the Psy/Changeling series from Nalini Singh. I personally like her pretty well but she is a bit slow/monotone which can bother you, if you don't like that kind of narration.
