Publisher's summary

Out of the wickedly inventive imagination of number-one New York Times best-selling author J.R. Ward comes a world where sin and salvation collide in a battle for the future of mankind - where a cynical fallen angel struggles against the seven deadly sins and a demon's lure over seven chosen souls....

Mels Carmichael, reporter for the Caldwell Courier Journal, gets the shock of her life when a man stumbles in front of her car outside the local cemetery. After the accident, his amnesia is just the kind of mystery she likes to solve, but she soon discovers they're in over their heads with his past. Over their heads with passion, too...

As shadows walk the line between reality and another realm, and her lover's memory begins to come back, the two of them learn that nothing is truly dead and buried. Especially when youre trapped in a no-holds-barred war between angels and demons. With a soul on the line, and Mels's heart at risk, what in Heaven - or in Hell - will it take to save them both?

good book but drags on forever

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

it took too long to get to what was really happening

What did you like best about this story?

the part where mathias was given a miracle

What does Eric Dove bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

his voice talents are great and it gives the characters a realness

Did Rapture: A Novel of the Fallen Angels, Book 4 inspire you to do anything?

Tedious and unpleasant

I like BBD, it's cheesy, but it's also sexy and fun with characters you like and care about. This series has never had that. In fact it's gotten worse each book. I've held on hoping for some BDB style enjoyment, but none so far. I don't like any of the characters, except for the dog. And even the sex is bad. It just feels like distanced porn. Worse, the characters don't even like each other. It's all unpleasant.

As for the narration, it's improved slightly, but his accents suck, and why do some lifelong Caldwell residents have southern or western accents?

Disappointing

I usually enjoy J.R. Wards books, both the BDB series and the Angel series. This book just misses the mark. The characters that were so good in the previous books, lack depth and interest. I love Eric Dove's work, but I believe that the producers must have speeded up the recording because no one can read that fast and maintain clarity and diction.

The entire audiobook is just plain boring.

Please J.R. Ward. Put the orignal Brotherhood 1st

Would you try another book from J. R. Ward and/or Eric Dove?

J.R.Ward the orignal Brotherhood is all you need forget about Blay Quinn John M. Love the new vampires. some side stories should be left alone. the orignal Brothers and mates are what's needed not Rev's story or JM's story. Darius should have come back not the weak JM. I picked up your book on a whim and you had me at page 1. After the original Brothers stories you lost me. If it about the Brothers I AM ALL YOURS but side characters are sometimes good when used as needed, not stories on their own with the Brothers in the background. Your books are therapy for me when my mind can not find peace from random thoughts. I may be new to this genre, but I am a advid reader of all kinds of books. So I say to you with much respect, and as an ADULT; for me books are an investment to my mind, soul and entertainment. I hope my thoughts are heard.......

What do you think your next listen will be?

i am just waiting to see if the authors i have read have new books coming.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Eric Dove?

he is a good narrator..

What character would you cut from Rapture?

The book was a let down for me.. the entire series thus far is.. i won,t invest in this anymore.I think J.R.Ward has a gift that is to be savored...but something in my opinion has gone off track.

Any additional comments?

Yes.........I will continue to invest in J.r Ward as much is she will invest in this 1 reader. It only takes 1 and you have done what most people try to do with millions, and that is; you have done what few authors or people have done. Made a difference in inviting into a new world.

Painful narration!

I love all of J.R Ward's books, but I couldn't finish this one because of the horrible narration! Narrator read at a fast, clipped pace, and when doing the voice of Mathias he sounded like a robot. So disappointed. I'll definitely have to read this one rather than listen.

A home made porn flick.

Story had awesome potential, Well read. I don’t mind a sex scene but these were pointless, poorly written, and not necessary for the story.

Love the series but not this download

What disappointed you about Rapture: A Novel of the Fallen Angels, Book 4?

The story is read in hi-speed or something. Trying to comprehend what is being said and they're off to a different chapter.

Thank you fellow Audible listeners

What happened??? I was so excited about this book (as I LOVED all 3 previous installments) and Eric Dove is my favorite narrator. Once I started listening I was so disappointed! What was wrong with this book? I thought I was being too critical until I started reading other reviews from my fellow Audible listeners. Thank goodness I am not alone! The audio is too fast and confusing. It completely ruined the story and the enjoyment of listening to Eric Dove for me. It was a struggle to finish this book.

I REALLY REALLY WANTED TO LIKE BOOK 4 BUT...

OK - Apart from the speed, which was fast but I could keep up with it all, it was just a bit flat. Jim, who is meant to be the MAIN character, was missing for a lot of the book so the chemistry between him and the soul to be saved seemed to be non existent. Coupled with this, the actual story seemed to be slow.

It took a long time to 'get into' but towards the end of Part One things started to look up and Ms. Ward's quick witted writing style is very impressive and the story moves the whole battle along with another flag being won.... but wow what a twist at the end.

Worth a Credit? It's a must have for J.R.Ward's fans who have been following the Fallen Angels series so it has to be a YES even though I only gave it 3 stars - so please bring back to the foreground Jim and Dog and all will be forgiven.

And. . .we're off with narrator taking the lead. .

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

The narrator is way too fast; wow, great story (love Mathias, been waiting for his story), the reading was so damn fast, no breaks, just hurry let's get to the end.

What other book might you compare Rapture: A Novel of the Fallen Angels, Book 4 to and why?

None other.

How could the performance have been better?

Understand the character; Mathias is a deliberate man; he has patience, this character would never rush into anything, especially speech. Check out "Crave: A Novel of Fallen Angels" that narrator had it right. This narrators presentation of Mathias is so wrong; because of the fast and intense narrative, it was hard to keep up with the story, it was bad.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

As stated before; loved the story, J. R. Ward is a great story teller; the narrator ruined the story.

Any additional comments?

If possible correct the speed; let us know so we can download the new version; I know there has to be a way to slow the narrative down; please. PLEASE!!!
