Publisher's summary

Out of the wickedly inventive imagination of number-one New York Times best-selling author J.R. Ward comes a world where sin and salvation collide in a battle for the future of mankind - where a cynical fallen angel struggles against the seven deadly sins and a demon's lure over seven chosen souls....

Mels Carmichael, reporter for the Caldwell Courier Journal, gets the shock of her life when a man stumbles in front of her car outside the local cemetery. After the accident, his amnesia is just the kind of mystery she likes to solve, but she soon discovers they're in over their heads with his past. Over their heads with passion, too...

As shadows walk the line between reality and another realm, and her lover's memory begins to come back, the two of them learn that nothing is truly dead and buried. Especially when youre trapped in a no-holds-barred war between angels and demons. With a soul on the line, and Mels's heart at risk, what in Heaven - or in Hell - will it take to save them both?

Absolutely worth the wait!

JR Ward did not dissapoint! I listened to this book in 2 days! The characters in the series are getting deeper and more is at stake. Loved the dynamics between Mathias and Mels. Jim and Ad are still fighting their own demons - literally & figuratively. What a great story.

Can't wait for the next one!

Eric Dove did a great job. I was a little worried at the beginning because it seemed like he was rushing while narrating but either he slowed down or I got used to it. He really does a great job with all the characters.

I love her stories!

Love the Narrator...I think he does woman voices pretty well. The love story is okay...I think what I really love about the Fallen Angels Series is the dynamics between all the players...J.R. Ward goes so deep into the psyche and I really get into that....lots of star ratings for this book!

I can't wait to see if the deal was struck

J.R. Ward drew me in aging to her world of Angel's and demon's and all that is in between. The narration was fantastic and I can't get it thing done when I am in thesecond books. Oh, darn, the laundry and dishes are piled up again! It's your fault J.R. Ward.

Don't let the narration speed stop you!

I held off from buying this book for a couple of months due to the myriad comments on the narration speed. While I agree with all of them -- the speed IS too fast -- it didn't stop me from following (or enjoying) the story. I sure hope they fix this going forward.

Eric Dove isn't one of my favorite narrators, but he does an ok job with this series. I wish he could find a little more range with the characters -- they all sounds exactly the same to me. So much so that during some of the dialogue, I couldn't tell who was speaking.

That aside, I've truly enjoyed this series and will be back for Book 5 when it's available!

Loved it!!

Any additional comments?

I was a bit worried about the complaints on the speed of the narration the first hour of listening was a bit hard to keep up, but it seemed to slow down after that or I just got used to it. The last book I listened to was so slow that I just can't continue the series.

I loved how the two series seem to link up between the Fallen Angels and the Black Dagger Brotherhood.

Love this series, but not my favorite IN the serie

In this, the 4th installment of the Fallen Angels, JR Ward shocked me once again at the lines she dares to cross...but what AMAZES me is when the woman does it, and makes me LIKE it, and want more. She could spoon feed me these books that kill every romance paradigm I think I know.

I'm NOT going to tell you who the hero is...but I am going to tell you that I didn't even realize that the Ward camp had done such a damn good job of covering up until I started listening to the book an realized who it WAS. They didn't make a big deal out of it. The didn't hush/hush and whisper. I FREAKED ~ literally. And no ONE, no WHERE was talking about it. Still aren't much...I love it!

So you have to get your own copy, peeps...but be prepared!!

While this book IS filled with awesomeness & of course we get our up close & personal w/ Davina, everyone's favorite OCD Demon w/ an YSL obsession, this book came down a few notches in tone from the last. It's a little darker, things are getting more tense, the situation is getting dicier and Jim Heron is wondering just what the hell he's in the middle of...and IS there really a GOOD side?

IF you follow the series ~ and I seriously warn you, this is a MUST read in order series ~ you know that some bad, bad things have happened to Jim's camp of late. But a little light is being shed, the playing field is being evened out some, and I'm ready for the next book...

I really must share again with you guys this series has overtaken the BDB for me. I have high hopes for Qhuay's book, but I'm into this struggle between bad and good, and IS there pure good and pure evil? And Davina is totally a riot, even while being a rotted out bitch. Ward's character depiction is actually full of flaws, and isn't that what makes them so awesome?

I have to mention that the narrator for this book, Eric Dove, is an EXCELLENT narrator ~ he does Jim's voice SO well. Sexy!

And his rendition of Ad and Eddie is awesome as well. I've mentioned before that I speed up the narration on my audio books usually, but for this one, apparently the company that made it sped it up...it was almost TOO fast. I missed Dove's sexy pauses and inflictions in many places, and felt they rushed him through this book. Not sure what was up with that, but not up to the same standard as the first 3, but still a great listen.

Another terrific book in the series

I have really been enjoying the Fallen Angel series. I get a kick out of the cool abbreviated language the characters use for just about everything! I wish I could recall some of the many ones used, but when you listen to this book, you'll recognize them!
Eric Dove is an excellent narrator and I have come to totally identify his voice with these characters.
As some other reviewers, I am really glad Mathis gets his (good) due and that he's a good guy now.
I look forward to the next book.

What just happened...??

I liked it but not as much as the first three. I had a problem with Matthias's whole redemption thing, he was truly a very bad dude, I just couldn't buy into it entirely. And what happened between Jim and Divina, and the reason that was given for said behaviour.. just No! Love Adrian and Dog of course. I'm kinda pissed at Jim at the moment, he needs to seriously get his act together! Ward what are you thinking, I can only imagine where you will go with all this....to be continued...
