Publisher's summary

Their name is Raintree. It's more than a last name, more than a notation on a family tree. It's a mark of destiny. Each family member has a special gift, an otherworldly talent.

Gideon Raintree, a homicide detective, can harness electricity and talk to ghosts. He will need to wield gifts he's kept hidden to solve his newest case, which involves a relentless serial killer unleashed by the dark Ansara wizards. But first he must deal with his reaction to Hope Malory, his alluring new partner. He'd never planned on love in the midst of battle. With evil lurking at every turn, Gideon and Hope are in a race against time to save their love, their family, and their newly conceived child.

2nd of 3

This is the second book of a trilogy written by 3 different authors. The first book, written by my favorite author Linda Howard was dissapointing but this book more than made up for it.

This book has fully developed characters, a great beginning and middle and a wonder cliff-hanger. I can't wait for the third book to come out next month. I also am looking forward to reading more of this author's work.

solid but not inspiring

The end feels kind of abrupt. I did enjoy listening to it and it wasn't a wasn't a waste of time, but I think the story would have been better served if the book was longer because every step in the story seems a bit sudden. I liked both people in the couple and enough explanation is given about thier motivation that you are able to get into it.
However, someone also needs to explain to Hope about the existence of the morning after pill :-)

Best In The Trilogy

I thought this was the best book in this trilogy and that's saying something with Linda Howard doing the lead off story. The narration was great, I always enjoy it when they give a male and female narrator for the parts.

good vs evil

Gideon Raintree detective is drawn to flowerchild Hope. Fun Characters and great story.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Raintree?

the whole audio is very good~

What does Theo McKell and Stefan Rudnicki bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

both are very good readers

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

YES~ keeps you glued from begining to end.

Any additional comments?

I had read the LINDA HOWARD Inferno and did not imagine another author could be as good but this one was as good~ great follow up. GOOD story and readers.

Worst Reader

I couldn't get past 10 minutes of this book. The Reader's voice just isn't made for an audio book.

Ick

What a stupid story: not quite a mystery and too obvious of a stereotypical romance - complete with sexist attitudes/assumptions, tired dialogue and cardboard characters. No sense of suspense with regard to the plot, and the characters fell into such obvious roles. Ick.
