Publisher's summary

Two hundred years after the Raintree clan defeated and abandoned them on a small Caribbean Island, the Ansara wizards are rising again to take on their bitterest foes. Despite their extraordinary powers and supernatural origin, the Raintree have largely blended into the modern world. They are bankers, cops, husbands, wives, and lovers in the society of humankind. But now, from Nevada to North Carolina, the rejoined battle will measure the endurance of their people. It will test their loyalties and relationships. And it will force them all into new lives they could barely have imagined before.

Buy this book, DON'T LISTEN TO IT

I love Linda Howard books and have them in print, on kindle and audible. This book was ruined by the female narrator. Her nasal tone, volume, pitch, emotion were wrong. It became so irritating that I stopped listening to it. It was just painful. I dreaded hearing her voice. The best narrator for Linda Howard is Natalie Ross (Kill and Tell, After the Night)

Quick Listen

The story was pretty good, though the protagonist was a little too alpha male for me. Also I liked the idea of two narrators (one male, one female). However, the voice of the female narrator quickly got annoying. Her narrator voice was fine, but the character voice for the protagonist female was nasally and winy. It was a quick listen despite that.

Not bad

Novel appears to be part of a serial as it leaves you without the conclusion

Dante’s inferno

An engaging story about Dante Raintree and Laurna have an intense and wild ride. So many events packed into a short time frame. Then... nothing. The book just stopped. It was great until it wasn’t not sure what happend. Going to check out the next one then hope for the best

A great start . . .

Linda Howard is one of my all-time favorite authors. She's written 2 of my favorite paranormal stories, "DREAM MAN" and "SON OF THE MORNING."
In this book "Raintree: Inferno," the sexual tension between Dante and Lorna is sooo electric you can feel your skin tingle!
I agree with other reviewers that the female narrator's intonations did not endear the listener to Lorna's character and is, at times, quite grating on one's nerves (it bothered me too!). Still, if you can ignore the female narrator's voice and concentrate on Stefan Rudnicki's voice (male narrator), you'll enjoy this book.

SASSY AND YUMMY.....

I was between "series" and waiting for new books to hit the market. While browsing for something to fill in the time, I came across the raintree series. OH WOW!! My only complaint is that I didn't quite get enough of Dante. He is smart, sultry and crafty. She is headstrong, soft and hard (in a good way), and really brings Dante to life. I usually do not reread/relisten to books but I do with the Raintree series. I have finally gotten my husband to listen to books w/me and this series was on the list for him to check out!

Awful!

Childish writing. Whiney voiced female lead chosen by narrator. Not at all worth time or energy. Don't waste your credit on this.
