The fourth chapter in C. L. Wilson's breathtaking, epic tale of magic, passion, and destiny....
Two lovers, two hearts, one soul.
Only joined can they be truly complete.
Only joined can they survive the darkness.
The Fey King Rain and his truemate Ellysetta share a passionate love unrivaled in the history of their world and a forbidden power that made them outcasts from the Fading Lands. As war looms and the evil mages of Eld threaten to rip their world asunder, they must fight to defend the very kingdom and people who reviled them.
Only by trusting completely in their love and in themselves can Rain and Ellysetta hope to defeat the gathering forces of Darkness. But it will take more than the strength of their devotion to endure. They must unlock the secrets of the past and find the courage to embrace the dangerous destiny that awaits them. Only they can save their world, but that victory might cost them their lives.

Home is where my books are.
I loved . . . well, strongly enjoyed, the first two books in this series. The narrators were decidedly rough, and the editing between scenes was abominable, but their voices were warm and sweet and did the story justice. And each of them improved over time. So I bought the 3rd and 4th books without checking the narrator. What a mistake.
Emily Durante really ruins this book for me. Her baby voice lisp, and sing-songy cadence just sound weird. It made me feel like a four year old being read a bed-time story -- a very violent bed time story. Her character voices aren't bad, exactly, but the fey male characters in particular sound like children instead of the thousand year old hardened warriors they are supposed to be. They are fey, not fairies -- but you can't tell from Ms. Durante's interpretation. Using her to record these books is criminal.
I hope someday the powers that be will re-record this series with someone worthy of it. Until then, I'll give it a skip.
Was this a good book? I have no idea. I was so distracted by the reader that I couldn't focus on the story. I tried not listening for a week (thereby not to compare her with previous readers) but it didn't help. It's hard to listen to the Tairen Soul when he sounds like a teenager.
I love to read. Always have & always will. Audible makes it possible when I can't sit and read. Audio brings great stories to life!!!!
I have totally fallen head over heals in love with the Tairen Soul series. What an amazing story full of love and magic. A fantasy like no other that shows the absolute beauty of the Fae and the terrible evil of the mages. What a crazy and thrilling ride these books have taken me on. My heart is going to break when the series ends..........
maybe. If it improve or the 5th one gets better
1 -3 and I love them.
Just this series
Books 1 -3 I was addicted too. I am struggling to get through this one. The women have become whinny and annoying when they are suppose to be queens. It feels forced and drawn out. I am hoping once I am through it the 5 th book picks up, but at the moment I feel the story should have been condensed into a trilogy.
This installment introduced the listener to the elves in a much deeper way, and explores their history and mythology in more detail. I felt somewhat impatient with this book at times, as it was obviously setting up the final climax to the series in book 5, and was slower in pace than the previous books. Still very enjoyable, and contains crucial information for the continuing storyline. Durante is ok, but not great.
At the moment first.
Fallen they all fight the right to love and will not give up even when faced with death.
Yes when they finally completed their bond. That was it for me...
