A Perfect Escape....
Nadja Aleksander has everything she could ever want in life, except her freedom. Skipping out on her engagement, to a man her controlling father has chosen for her, Nadja books passage on the first spaceship she can find. Bound for a planet of primitive humanoid males, Nadja plans on finding a simple, hardworking man who will allow her to live out her days in total obscurity.
A Perfect Mistake....
Prince Olek of Draig, royal ambassador, is pleased with his refined and blushing bride. When she chooses him to be her life mate, appearing happy in her decision, his heart soars - until the next morning when his new little Princess wants nothing to do with him. Olek doesn't know what he's done to upset his alluring bride, but he is determined to reignite the spark that burned the night they met.
About the Series: The dragonshifting princes have no problem with commitment. In one night, they will meet and choose their life mate in a simplistic ceremony involving the removing of masks and the crushing of crystals. With very few words spoken and the shortest, most bizarre courtship in history, they will bond to their women forever. And once bonded, these men don't let go. Too bad nobody explained this to their brides.

Just Another Audiobook Addict! Love listening to all types of romances, but occasionally need a good Sci-Fi, Fantasy, or a book with humor!
Yes, I would recommend this story to any sci-fi, shifter romance addict! It's a great story, and both the plot and characters were well developed. I really enjoyed the story!
The prince of course! I loved Prince Olek, and how he was so patient with Nadja, even when she frustrated him. He was determined to win her over!
I don't have a favorite character that was performed by Libby Hudson; however, I thought she did a really good job narrating this story.
Absolutely! But I actually had to listen to the story in two days.
This is the second book in the series, and it appears books one through four stories are running simultaneously. I'm looking forward to seeing if book four will captivate me as much a books one and two as I plan on listening to them all.
No time lost listening to this story, and even though I used my credit, I suggest taking advantage of whispersync. That's how I plan to buy most of the stories in the series, just a suggestion.
I am Tammy Payne. I am an avid book reader and I also have a book blog :)
This was really good. I enjoyed it very much. So it ranks up there pretty high.
I hate having to choose just one but I will say Nadja. She is a very determined and strong woman. She doesn't just take things lying down.
When Nadja finally gives in to her Prince.
I liked the scene where Pia and Nadja are using swords then it all goes wrong.
I listened to book one of this series and I have to say that book two has given so much more depth, and I just loved the narrator for this one. Excellent book !!
I was gifted a copy of this audible book for my honest review.
Love the Anniversary Edition of this book! This is the story about Nadja and Prince Olek. Nadja is the daughter of one of the Medical Mafia doctors who was about to be forced into a marriage. She escapes the night of her engagement party and finds the quickest transport off the planet is by signing up with Galaxy Brides. She arrives on the planet of Qurilixen the night of the Breeding Festival which is where she sees Prince Olek for the first time. Nadja tells him she is only willing to complete the marriage if he is a working man...not one of the Princes that were said to be attending the festival. She is furious once she realizes he is one of the princes. Prince Olek has an up hill battle to wage since Nadja doesn't understand why he would say he works when he is a prince. He uses every ounce of the diplomacy he has learned from being the Draig Ambassador to get her to finally accept him. Just as Nadja finally accepts Prince Olek her father arrives and tries to take her away. Nadja will need to take drastic measures in order to keep Olek and the rest of the planet safe from her father. The changes from the original book are very well done and enhance the story. Thank you Michelle M Pillow for a wonderful series. I can't wait to see what you do next.
I loved when Nadja went out to explore the town and found a number of plants to do experiments with. She was so friendly with the children that were following her that they ended up helping her with gathering the plant samples and getting them back to the castle. She was so kind to everyone she met and was willing to help someone who was hurt. I loved how word got around and people ended up coming to the castle to request her to heal them. She was so gracious with them and accepted whatever payment they could give.
Libby Hudson has a wonderful voice for storytelling. She was really able to bring the characters to life.
When Nadja goes to meet her father once she realizes he is on the planet. She has some very tough decisions to make to keep the people on the planet safe.
I was hooked in the first 30 minutes. This is one story that I was sorry that I only listen during my commute. I couldn’t wait to hear the next section each time I had to leave off, and I kept finding extra listening time.
Nadja and Olek are united in a quick wedding after only meeting a few hours before the ceremony. Now they must learn who each other is, and that is explosive. It is the longest and hottest foreplay that I have encountered in a book. Neither of them have the sense to sit down and share a meal while discussing themselves. Both want to keep it simple and protect the other from their own secrets. A happy union that does not make.
Listening to both Nadja and Olek fight against themselves and each other while being passionately on fire was intense. Nadja lives in fear of being found by her father and Olek fears losing Nadja if he can’t make her see that she is the other half of him. And of course they both bungle things. As events exploded towards the end, I kept thinking that there wasn’t enough time to finish their story. It did end and without a cliff hanger.
This was the first book I have listened to with Libby Hudson as a narrator. She did an excellent job in conveying not only the individual voices but the feelings and mode of the book as well. I will be looking for more books narrated by her.
This was the first book in the Dragonshifters I had listened to. I didn’t feel that I had missed anything by not listening to the first.
I liked that Mrs, Pillow had added more story, to the story.
I love the dragon lord series, and i especially liked that the heroin doesn't just fall in to the arms of the hero. the story line was really good, and i just couldn't put it away. really worth the price.
Say something about yourself!
I was glad that Nadja finally understood what love really was.
I love the interaction between all the characters.
It made me laugh, get emotional and mad sometimes
This books was even better than the first and i loved the first. This book was during the same time period but you get a different point of view of things that had taken place and even more information than the first book. I would recommend this series. This will be one of my new favorite series. I look forward to reading the rest.
This was a book I had read a while ago. It was so much fun to visit this wonderful world again. I remembered the characters and was reminded of so many aspects of the book.
Too many to count. Their courtship was a come/go dance that was fun to watch and enjoy the frustration of the two learning to let their love develop.
I chuckled often with the dialogue and the brothers frustration.
Prince number two, Olek, has a lighter, more mischievous personality than the other brother Princes. Still for Nadja, when she finds out he is a Prince, not a common farmer or country doctor who will keep her anonymity, the beginning of their relationship will be the last if she has any say.
However, after the mating traditions are met she has little say. Nadja knew she was getting on a Brides ship. It was her only option as she escapes from her tyrannical father and the man he has chosen for her husband.
Their fierce desire is difficult to fight and even when they begin to give in enemies of the state intrude. They come to terms and live in relative companionship. She begins to thaw and her fear lessons as she learns what a good man he is. But honesty is important and he continues to protect he by keeping things from her.
Their struggle and family ties are endearing, frustrating and very hot. Mouth watering guys, gorgeous women, war, warriors, enemies and hidden secrets. This one has it all. Good read.
I read the first story and was disappointed by how awful the main character was to her husband. I read the second book hoping it would be different. I realize now that the storyline is the same in that the women is a b!tch the entire story until, literally, the last page of the book. She maintains her bigoted stance towards royalty then demands and throws tantrums the entire time over lying which she herself does to the very end. All the others in the book agree with her asinine behavior. And the prince is always condemned and ridiculed by his family and friends throughout the book for his behavior towards his wife when he has done nothing harmful or mean whatsoever. He cares for her throughout and faces tons of consequences (her constant attitude and hurtful accusations) while she has constant allies, lies the entire time and comes out smelling like roses with a quick (less then heartfelt) apology at the very end. I do not recommend this book to anyone who is self aware enough to know that love is not one sided. This book will just piss you off!
sweet misunderstood love
the banter between the characters, especially the brothers
When Nadja found the strength to defy her father
Prince Olek second prince of Draig, is desperately hoping to find a wife at his first Breeding Festival, but not really understanding what it is he is wishing for. Nadja, on the run from her maniac father and an arranged marriage to a deranged man, finds herself on the Galaxy Brides ship headed to Qurilixan for their Breeding Festival. Hoping to be chosen by a simple man Nadja follows the other brides as they proceed down the row of bachelors. Of course fate has other ideas. She and Olek find themselves paired but it is not a smooth relationship. There are preconceived notions, difference in custom, and a lot of inexperience on Nadja’s part that cause a beginning rife with hurt feelings and misunderstandings. With patience Olek starts to bring Nadja around until she discovers he is a dragon shifter, as if being a prince wasn’t bad enough to her. An attack on one of the other princesses leads Nadja to conclude her father was there to take her back, to protect Olek she pushes him away and goes to find her father. Olek is not about to lose her after he had worked so hard to bring her around in the first place, a fight ensues and Nadja finds she underestimated her husband and herself. Great book and Great series, highly recommended.
Libby Hudson has a great voice that is very pleasant to listen to; good use of pitch, tone and diction to differentiate characters, really enjoyed listening.
