Publisher's Summary

When Grace Andreas's sister, Petra, and her husband are both killed, Grace inherits the power and responsibilities of the Oracle of Louisville, as well as her sister's two young children - neither of which she is prepared for. Then Khalil, Demonkind and Djinn prince of House Marid, decides to make himself a part of the household, both as guardian and counterpoint to Grace's impudence towards the Elder Races.

    "loved it!"

I think this is my favorite so far.... truly a romance story of the old version... neither likes the other until they fall in love.

    "My fav Thea Harrison book"
    Any additional comments?

I've listened to or read most of Thea Harrison's Elder series, and this is the best of the lot. It's well written, has a great premise and wonderful characters. Sophie Eastlake does a good job of narrating it, particularly the children.

"Can anyone say Powerful Loving Djinn?"
If you could sum up Oracle's Moon in three words, what would they be?

    Insightful
    Compelling
    Page-turner

Who was your favorite character and why?

I loved the Djinn. He decided that the children needed protecting and in spite of his size he stepped up and did so. He was not afraid to challenge anyone including Andreas when it came to the children. He gradually came to love her and she him.

    Which scene was your favorite?

When they first went down into the tunnels.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed in several places. Especially when Pia made the most powerful being in the whole area stand down because he was being stupid.

    "Simply Wonderful!"

Narration - Sophie Eastlake - Fantabulous, as usual!

I love this series, and I really enjoyed this book except for two little things that just didn't work for me, but I'll get to those later.
This is the story of Grace, the Oracle of Louisville, her adorable niece and nephew and the Djinn Khalil.
Grace is introduced near the end of Serpent's Kiss when Khalil brings Carling and Rune to her so they can petition the Oracle.

Her Sister Petra, her Husband and Grace were in a bad car accident and Grace was badly injured. When she woke up in the hospital, she knew the power or the Oracle had passed on to her which meant her sister was dead. She now has the responsibility of the Oracle as well as the family home, land and the care of her deceased sisters two children. The kids are absolutely adorable in this story and their interactions with Khalil are priceless.

Grace can't stand Khalil but when some dangerous vampires and Wyr-kind end up on her front stoop, she turns to Khalil for protection of the kids and herself. The story is well written and smart and filled with all the humor and romance that comes with this series. What I didn't care for was the sex scenes with Grace and Khalil. He's a Djinn, so he doesn't have a physical form. He can pretty much make himself whatever he wants to be. So of course he can make himself a hot lookin' stud muffin, but when he starts suckling both breasts at the same time or when they are having sex AND he's licking her ... ahem... at the same time. Well, I don't know, but that just got a little weird for me. Yeah, he's a djinn, yeah, he's pretty much made of air, no, that was not sexy.
The only other scene that didn't work for me was their second date. That's all I'm gonna say about that. The rest of the book was golden!

"He looked at Chloe "Come over to the table. Sit with your aunt. I will clear away the mess and....I will achieve pancakes."
Grace's lovely, tired face wobbled with what looked suspiciously like mirth, but she had been under so much stress he decided his first impression could not be correct.
    "You'll achieve pancakes?"
"I do not see why not" he said
"Have you ever achieved them before?" she said
"That question is irrelevant," he told her, while his eyes narrowed in suspicion on her tired face. On a Djinn, her expression would definitely be laughter. "I will achieve pancakes now."
    — Thea Harrison (Oracle's Moon (Elder Races, #4)

"He wished he knew how to describe to her what he felt.
I started counting time for you.
I want to change who I am for you.
    You are my Grace.
He was too full, and there weren't enough words.
He said, "I did not know I needed grace until I met you."
Then as she held him tightly, he knew that what he said had been enough."
    — Thea Harrison (Oracle's Moon (Elder Races, #4)

"Screw pretty. I’d rather be strong. Pretty fades over time. Strength gets you through the bad shit. And that matters, because sometimes there’s a lot of bad shit."
    — Thea Harrison (Oracle's Moon (Elder Races, #4)

"She was sliding dangerously fast down a slippery slope, if she went from "no kissing" and "we'll see" to him coming over when the children were gone. She cast around in her mind for something, anything, to stop her headlong plunge.
She blurted out, "Do Djinn date?"
He blinked. "That is not something to which I have given much thought," he said. "Perhaps some Djinn might date some ... creatures ... some ... times. Dating has not previously been a habit of mine."
She nodded, too rapidly, and forced herself to stop. "I just wondered."
"Humans like to date," Khalil said thoughtfully. Then he turned decisive. "That is what we will do tomorrow. We will go on a date."
Suddenly she was dying. She didn't know from what exactly: repressed laughter or mortification or perhaps a combination of both. She managed to articulate, "You don't dictate a date."
"I do not see why not," said Khalil, his energy caressing hers with lazy amusement. He tapped her nose. "Humans require air. Breathe now."
She did, and a snicker escaped. "If you order a date to happen, it's no longer a date. It becomes, I don't know, a meeting or kidnapping or something."
    — Thea Harrison (Oracle's Moon (Elder Races, #4)

"Black smoke wafted around her, covering her from the waist downward. She drifted fingers through the top of it. It curled and eddied just like real smoke. Khalil was making his presence known to the Vampyres in no uncertain terms. She stirred the smoke with a forefinger. It looked really neat, actually, like she was standing in the mouth of a volcano. Or maybe in the mouth of hell.
"Meet my companion," she said. "He's not very friendly."
Khalil Somebody Important. Which probably meant he was the Bane of More Than One Person's Existence. He might possibly be the Bane of Quite a Few Peoples' Existences. For the first time since meeting him, Grace felt almost cheerful."
    — Thea Harrison (Oracle's Moon (Elder Races, #4)

"Besides...' She smiled. 'I'm perfectly safe, remember? I've got you. I've always got you.'
'Please always stay mine,' he whispered.
    'Always."
    — Thea Harrison (Oracle's Moon (Elder Races, #4)

"He had never bothered to count time before, but he started to now, and it began with counting each breath she took."
