Raine Kendall has been in love with her boss, Macen Hammerman, for years. Determined to make the man notice that she's a grown woman with desires and needs, she pours out her heart and offers her body to him, only to be crushingly rejected. But when his friend, very single, very sexy Liam O'Neill watches the other Dom refuse to act on his obvious feelings for Raine, he resolves to step in and do whatever it takes to help Hammer find happiness again, even rousing his friend's possessive instincts by making the girl a proposition too tempting to refuse. But he never imagines that he'll end up falling for her himself. Hammer has buried his lust for Raine for years. After rescuing the budding runaway from an alley behind his exclusive BDSM Dungeon, he has come to covet the pretty submissive. But tragedy has taught him that he can never be what she needs. So he watches over her while struggling to keep his distance. Liam's crafty plan blindsides Hammer, especially when he sees how determined his friend is to possess Raine for his own. Hammer isn't ready to give the lovely submissive over to any other Dom, but can he heal from his past and fight for her? Or will he lose Raine if she truly gives herself-heart, body, and soul-to Liam?

in 3 words, I'd say "Oh yes, Sir!" Love this book, keeps you on your toes.. comparable to Anne Rice's Sleeping Beauty, only more modern.. this woman has talent with words and her mind is even better! ;) p.s. Both the men are equally appealing, only in different ways...
made me horny, I had awesome sex with my husband after listening to only a few chapters (and no, I'm not deprived of sex lol)
Hot desire,anticipation and longing.
My favorite character was Dr. Bechman. He was a strong, sexy and intelligent Dom. He seem to like that fact he scared most people but deep down was a very sensual, Intuned and skillful lover. Yes, he was a Sadist but sexy and very funny. The story line was sexy, sensual, seductive and mind blowing sex acts.
Christian brought the characters to life for me. He was even convincing as Raine. Christian brought the story to life for me.
The story made me laugh and in some instances I felt sorrow and cried a little.
I love the story and the narrator added another dimension to it. Mr. Christian Fox is truly master of the spoken word. I eagerly look forward to the next part.
I made it though half the book before I shut it off in disgust. Really? An "Alpha Dom" who punishes while enraged? A sadist who is an accepted member of the dungeon yet he is pathological and abusive? A "submissive" whose only response is to be mouthy and rebellious, even while on the spanking bench of said sadist? A Dom who must publicly "claim" a sub who's only under his training collar via public anal sex (and the character implies that is the only accepted way to claim a submissive)?
I cringe to think that readers will believe this is what the Lifestyle is really like.
Voracious reader and listener of hot books
It's a bug stew of troubling obsession, love, sex, damage and domination. Wish I knew it was a series, cause I hate waiting, but it gets better as the book goes on. Hammer is tough to take at first, Raine seems a bit too fragile and immature, but character development and story moves along nicely.
I would have loved to see Raine making a decision to choose either liam or Macen in the end. The writer did a great job. This is a matter of preference purely based on my own taste.
Yes the narration matched the pace but I did not like the voice used for Raine. I sometimes felt the voice was too old for the part.
If the writer writer would like to. Then do so.
The story line as it ends is not for me.
Can't say enough good things about Christian Fox's performance. He brought the characters to life for me. I'm grinning and melting, especially Liam's lilt, soooo good!
Too many to name...
Thrilled you have Book two am starting now!
I love being swept away by a new romance and thankfully Audible's ever growing Library means I get to indulge myself over and over again
I love all forms of the Romance genre and every so often it's one of my guilty pleasures to download a 'naughty but oh so nice' book by one of my favorite authors from this particular genre such as Shayla Black because I know I'm going to get an actual plot as well as plenty of delicious 'hot 'n heavy' chapters too.
Hammer is the sexy owner of a BDSM Club and a Dom, Raine, previously homeless and mentally abused, works at the Club, is a Sub and she's desperately in love with Hammer and Liam is Hammer's friend but when Hammer rages at Raine he becomes her Dom in Shining Armour and all Hell breaks out.
A very enjoyable emotional story of unrequited love, jealousy, obsession, possession with touching and tender scenes as two Doms fight for one Sub with lots of sex (no M/FM yet), some BDSM, an ever growing romance between three damaged characters and a great male narrator makes this an intense and captivating listen.
Worth a credit? YES, but not a HEA ending yet as it's a trilogy!!
Good Books Don't Promote Violence
On 3 different occasions, I tried listening to this book about Raine, a young girl (23) living in a sex club. Attempting to keep an open mind, I was curious about this alternative lifestyle but just can't grasp the erotic appeal of being someone's doormat and punching bag.
Hammer (40+) , the club's owner, found Raine when she was a homeless teen & gave her a safe place to live. Very kind! Years later, when she makes a pass at Hammer, he rejects her advances, hits her and threatens to turn her over to a sadist for punishment. Not so nice! Hammer & his friend Liam (30+) talk about caring for Raine while humiliating, whipping & using her for sex.
What sane & self-respecting woman would agree to allowing a bully to exploit her body and feelings under the guise of "learning submission" and in return for crumbs of affection. What kind of sane & consensual behavior involves bruising, inflicting pain, sexual assault and crushing a person's spirit and dignity?
This is a well crafted book with engrossing characters, humorous dialogue and suspense with excellent narration. Without the physical violence, it could have been an romantic & entertaining story in a unique setting. As is, I can't recommend One dome to Love.
