Would you consider the audio edition of Once Burned to be better than the print version?

YES. I love Tavia Gilbert! She is one of my favorite narrators and I LOVE Vlad's accent during her performances.

What other book might you compare Once Burned to and why?

I am a HUGE Cat & Bones fan! I will say this book wasn't AS great as I thought it would be, but I have extremely high hopes for the Vlad series. Vlad is one of my favorite characters and I can't wait to see what is in store for him next!

What about Tavia Gilbert’s performance did you like?

Her accents are my favorite part of her performances! Bone/Spade and Vlad have unique accents that sets Ms. Gilbert apart from other 'ordinary' narrators.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book was both funny and touching in certain parts.

A great read without a true final ending, but good none the less!

Like most if not all Jeaniene Frost's books, good characters and a somewhat light plot but still interesting enough to keep you coming back for more. I've read almost all of her books now and they've all been enjoyable. This is no different.

I listened to this and the narrator on her books always does a good job. It's one of the reasons I'd rather listen to her books instead of reading.

Do read the "Night Huntress" series first, then read "Night Huntress World" series before you read this series. :)

Would you listen to Once Burned again? Why?

Maybe after a few years. This series is great.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Once Burned?

I love how Vlad says "Leila." It's sexy, irresistible, intense - no wonder she is head over heels, despite the fact that he is so controlling and grumpy. I listened to all the books in this series with much delight, and yet the scene that stuck with me most is when she first enters his mind, and discovers that he can hear her thoughts. Yah!

Which character – as performed by Tavia Gilbert – was your favorite?

Vlad, I think. Tavia does such a wonderful job with his sultry voice - he is a vamp that would make any girl heat up!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I adored the relationship between Leila and her dwarf BFF vampire - I mean really, who else has a dwarf, BFF, vampire. They have a unique act in the circus, and have helped each other heal from disastrous and painful lives. They will do anything for each other. I also cared deeply about Vlad (he did, afterall, help Cat during her heartbreak time away from Bones, and is therefore my hero), and wanted him to pull his head out and find the true love that was being presented to him in the form of the talented, kick-butt Leila.

Dive into this series by the unstoppable Jeaniene Frost -you will be hooked from start to finish. This is Frost at her finest.

Interesting twist on an old vampire tale

When I first read the description of this book, I thought the premise of this book was a little far fetched, even for paranormal romance. I still think that it’s far fetched but the plot was interesting enough and the characters were well developed. Was it necessary to have female protagonist working as a carnie? Probably not but for someone who has the power to electrocute people when she touched them and has visions of people who have touched objects, I guess it’s the only place for her to fit into our society. I’m still debating whether I should read the next in the series but this book definitely kept my attention.
