Publisher's summary

Multi-millionaire casino owner Ryan McKay needs a bride in a hurry, and the one he chose has just backed out, which means that he could lose his company within hours. He doesn't know the meaning of the word failure, so he's scrambling for Plan B and not happy that the ridiculous terms of his grandfather's will have backed him into a corner. So when his shy but dedicated executive assistant Faith Lewis tells him that she'll do everything in her power to make sure that he succeeds, she's shocked to realize that Plan B equals her - in other words, he wants to marry her. Faith reluctantly agrees, burying the heavy crush she's had on Ryan for years. But the shy virgin is going to have to live with, sleep with, and reveal so many secrets to the enigmatic man who sees this as a logical business deal. Faith's been holding out for love, but that four-letter word isn't in Ryan's vocabulary. However, love very rarely follows the rules of business or logic, and this business deal is about to get very personal. Contains mature themes.

Recycled Plot -- Decently Retold

The plot is old and tired. Executive assistant marries boss to fulfill boss' will requirements. Yawn. Nothing new in the plot nor in the characters. I suggest this book only if you have not read the plot-line before -- otherwise pass. It's not that this novel is badly written, nor badly narrated as much as it is utterly unremarkable. Burton gets you to connect with the main character so this is why I give it three stars -- barely.

Annoying protagonist

What disappointed you about Nothing Personal?

The main female character was so pathetically shy and childish although her character was supposed to be 26. It would have been a little more convincing if she was 18 or 19. A 26 year old women acting so weak around a man never "knowing what to do" a phrase constantly in her inner dialogue. I'm all for shy characters but they have to have some sort of backbone. Returning this horrible book asap.

Would you ever listen to anything by Jaci Burton again?

Probably not. Her story telling is weak and if her character development and dialogue are the same in her other works, I'd stay far away.

What didn’t you like about Elizabeth Hart’s performance?

Her male voice was a little lacking. Other than that she was mediocre.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Major disappointment

No just no.

Between the story and the narrator, I couldn’t. I tried. But no. Couldn’t do more than a hour.

Butlers kick booty - It was----

Any additional comments?

I love Jaci Burton. Love her sports books. Her writing is always awesome. This book was okay for me. I wasn't too keen that the heroine had low self confidence but I was happy that she found at least a little by the end. I'm more of a strong willed, girlpower heroine kind of girl.

I played the audiobook as I was doing a series of things. I stopped near the end and came to one conclusion. Everyone needs a butler. I was jumping up and down as he started threatening the big bad hero. You tell them Leeman, you tell him.

BOTTOMLINE:

If you haven't picked up a Burton Book (we'll say BB) you need to. She's amazing. Oh and everyone needs to get a butler. I'm calling to order a butler right this moment!!!

Maybe it's supposed to be a parody?

I couldn't finish. Not at all realistic reactions.... You don't go from terrified and nervous as a virgin to sex kitten with a single kiss. *rolls eyes* maybe if I had started this thinking it was a parody I would have enjoyed it.

Loved it! Wish it wasn't a stand alone the back ground character's were quit interesting. Great narration as well. Can't wait for the next.

Wow!

This book will have tears down your cheeks if you are one to get into books like I do. I was scared when she agreed to get married to him just so he could keep his business knowing that she is a virgin and has never fall in love. He is the perfect guy and it took a perfect girl to bring out that side, break the family spell and also kept the family business in good hand.

Narration is very good, really nice and engaging voice Elizabeth Hart!

Cute but nothing new

Same old story, told in the same old tired way. Jaci Burton can do much better. Performance is ok but not great
