Publisher's summary

From New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal bestselling author Catherine Bybee comes the first novel in the delicious Not Quite series.

Waitress and single mom Jessica “Jessie” Mann is practical to a fault. Even if she had time to date, which she doesn’t, she’d be determined to provide her son with a more secure upbringing than the one she had - and that would mean a husband with big bucks. When Jack Morrison - a sexy-as-sin, seemingly broke customer with a cowboy hat and a seductive grin - tries to flirt with her, she shoots him down. She doubts a carefree dreamer like Jack can provide the financial stability she needs. Yet with Christmas just weeks away, and Jessie not wanting to spend it alone, the charming Texan is proving hard to resist.

As the heir to the Morrison luxury hotel empire, Jack is used to being fawned over. But Jack needs someone who will fall in love with him - not his wealth. He’s set his sights on Jessie, though her hardened heart just might get in the way.... To be sure, he conceals his true identity and offers to help Jessie find the rich husband she seeks. But Jack’s daring charade may rob him of the holiday wish he wants most of all....

Quick and sweet story

The plot is not very innovative, the billionaire who pretends to be poor in order to find a woman who loves him for whom he is not what he has... still, it was a sweet story for a quick listen. The narrator did a fine job with the Texan accent, made me laugh with how funny it sounded.

Sweet

A sweet book about a single mom who is trying to do right by her son and about a rich man whose heart has been trampled one too many times by a gold digger. It was funny, heartfelt, sweet, and light. Some NSFW moments, so be prepared for the steam in a few spots. Highly recommend

Another Classic Love Story by Catherine Bybee ❤

Catherine Bybee, you are a very CREATIVE and ROMANTIC author. With your trademark style of 5-⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ romance book series, I knew you wouldn't disappoint your readers\listeners with this book "Not Quite Dating" that's from your "Not Quite Series."

Jack and Jess were two characters that were the Perfect Match for each other. How their relationship molded together was well written. I appreciate you making Jess a Strong Single Mother, having Jack Supportive when she needed him to be. The different personas that he portrayed showed that he wasn't a 'stuff shirt,' he knew how to have fun out of the office.
And, when they were in the bedroom, he knew how to give complete sexual satisfaction.

Amy McFadden was the narrator for this romantic story. She gave an EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE as voice storyteller. I thought her Texan drawl was spot on, as well as all the other vocal characters.

This book comes HIGHLY recommend it as I will be be adding it to my favorites folder for future listening.

Sweet lil romance

I really enjoy this author. I have yet to listen or read a story by her that I don’t like. I would recommend both the author and narrator to others.

Great Story. I liked it

This was a great story, I really enjoyed it. The story line, plot and concept were all great.

The Hero, Jack was a rich sexy cowboy in his stetson hat! The Heroine, Jessie was strong and witty, not whimpering and whiny, which is always a plus to me. They had great chemistry and some very nicely written sex scenes.

There was a lot of dialogue throughout the book, (I like lots of dialogue) and it was well written, easy to follow. It all flowed very nicely.

As for the narrator, she is fine. I do wish she would practice deepening her voice for the male characters. And work on not making some of the women sound so juvenile. She does try though, and is not the worst I have listened too.

What a preposterous plot!

I love the "waitress meets rich man" premise so that - plus the fact that this audio is available on Kindle Unlimited - were the reasons for me to pick it up. The plot wasn't really good though. It totally made sense for him to keep his millions to himself until he knew that she loved him for who he was but there was no reason whatsoever for the elaborate lies!

The narrator was just average. Ok male voices but not very distinct. If the hero hadn't had an accent, it would have been difficult to distinguish him from the other male characters.
