Publisher's summary

The second installment in Kresley Cole’s best-selling steamy Immortals After Dark series is now available on audio for the first time!

Centuries ago, Sebastian Wroth was turned into a vampire - a nightmare in his mind - against his will. Burdened with hatred and alone for ages, he sees little reason to live - until an exquisite, fey creature comes to kill him, inadvertently saving him instead.

When Kaderin the Cold Hearted lost her two beloved sisters to a vampire attack long ago, a benevolent force deadened her sorrow - accidentally extinguishing all of her emotions. Yet whenever she encounters Sebastian, her feelings - particularly lust - emerge multiplied. For the first time, she’s unable to complete a kill.

The prize of the month-long contest is powerful enough to change history, and Kaderin will do anything to win it for her sisters. Wanting only to win her, forever, Sebastian competes as well, taking every opportunity - as they travel to ancient tombs and through catacombs, seeking relics around the world - to use her new feelings to seduce her. But when forced to choose between the vampire she’s falling for and reuniting her family, how can Kaderin live without either?

Love this series!

I can't wait for Audible to get the rest of this series. It is addictive reading, funny and great characters.

The narrator does a great job but I found the female voices a little difficult to listen to at times, I think that would be my only critisim of this book.

Hurry up Audible!

Great second

There needs to be an Oscars for audio book narrators, because this guy deserves one!
Steady steamy story, with likeable characters. Men often cannot pull off women's voices without sounding whiny and grating: RP does an admirable job.
I liked his Scots brogue better than this Croatian burr, but, let's be honest, who doesn't?!

One of the BEST IAD installments!!

Where does No Rest for the Wicked: Immortals After Dark, Book 3 rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Nice!

If you could sum up No Rest for the Wicked in three words, what would they be?

Fun, Free, and well...Wicked :) . No seriously, this series has been very fun to read. If you are a fan of Gena Showalter, Shelly Laurenston, Christine Warren, etc, this is a series for you. It has the classic vampire/werewolf/shapeshifter whatever fun but with a twist that is all Kresley Cole.

What did you like best about this story?

What I like best about this story and in all the rest of this series is that Kresley Cole makes the situation between the characters difficult. All romance has this but this series really has a focus on this, or at least it seemed so to me. There is a real struggle as there are metaphorically brick walls, cliffs, sometime chasms between the two main characters and they have to work to be together and Kresley Cole ties it all together very well in such a way as it is entertaining (sometimes hilarious) but not too frustrating for the reader.
The world building is also well done. I really like the different dynamics between the characters and and how they mix with others in the series.
No rest for the Wicked is a story between a vampire and a valkyrie and the two do not mix very well. Kaderin the Cold Hearted has a real hatred for them as she has been at war with them for a millennium plus and they also killed her family. She hasn't felt anything since hence the cold hearted part. Sebastian is a vampire who was turned against his will and pretty much hates what he is....he also isn't a real fan of the other creatures of the lore either. Enter a contest that only happens every couple of hundred of years and a major prize at the end that both want and everyone (vampire, werewolf, witches, demons oh my!)is out to maim or kill each other...and you have a set up that had me either LMAO or cringing in sympathy. Have fun.

Have you listened to any of Robert Petkoff’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Nope, but I have been listening to audio books for more than 20 years. He hit the big three: tone, character and "didn't irritate". If I had a complaint it was when he did womans voices....need a little work there.

Too Short!

This was too short Kresley! Where are the 3 other hours?!

Before listening to this, I’d read and listened to all the other IAD books. I skipped this one when the book was released because I thought it wouldn’t be my cup of tea. Boy was I wrong! I decided to give it a try after I read some posts on the FB page about the plot. I listened to the sample and was immediately intrigued! I’m so glad I listened. I laughed loads at Mirceo and his machinations. His my second favourite character now after Regin.

Great book, you won’t be disappointed!

Petkoff is a God

Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark series are great reads, and Robert Petkoff adds a whole other, wonderful dimension! This book is equally action packed as it is romantic, and Petkoff practically brings it to life. I was amazed at all the different accents and voices he used in this book, including the hero's Estonian accent, which I'd never even heard before. You can tell a lot of effort is put into making this audiobook great, which I very much appreciate. Fans of Kresley Cole's should not miss out on these audiobooks! I sincerely hope Petkoff narrates the entire IAD series. This is one of my very first audiobooks, but it certainly won't be the last!
