"Feehan's ability to craft believable characters thrown together in wild, action-packed circumstances makes for a satisfyingly sexy romance." (Booklist)
This is one the strongest books in her Ghostwalker series. Flame is a consistently strong character who gives as good as she gets. The narrator had me worried with his heavily done cajun accent he does for the main male character,Gator, but either he tones it down or the ear gets use to it. The sex scenes were hot as usual and a little crazy.
I have listened to most of Ms. Feehan's books. This is one of her best of all of her series. The narrator really adds to this listening experience. He is great with the accents and his ability to give different characters' voices a different sound makes all the difference.
This has to be one of Christine Feehans very best stories! Gator is absolutely dangerous, sexy, loving, adventerous (in many ways) and I would like to have him cloned!!
Loving this series. I'm glad I waited until there were several out to listen to since I don't have alot of time to actually sit down and read the stories.
THE BOOK: Fantastic.Good, solid storyline. Great character motivation and conflict. I thought Flame was a bit stubborn in hanging on to her misgivings, but given the storyline and everything she went through, it was understandable. the characters were three dimensional and interesting and the action was very fast paced. The progression of the story and the character development was smooth. Very good romantic suspense. I'm glad to see Ms. Feehan and her publisher using realistic language in the sex scenes and even throwing out the occasional "F bomb" in dialogue when appropriate. These are military men. I've never met a military man who DIDN'T drop the "F bomb" occasionally. The language was tastefully done and only added to the realism of the story. The last scene where Flame and Gater see each other after her chemo treatments is the most sexy, seductive, romantic scene I believe I've ever read. Ya gotta love a man who is completely in love with his woman. Flame would say he was a perv, but the author sees it as total and complete love. I do too. :)
THE NARRATION: i'm officially in love with Gater, thanks to Mr Stechschulte's smooth as honey Cajun accent. I said in an earlier review he could call me and read the weather report as long as he did it in that Cajun drawl. I'll amend that to include the phone book and encyclopedia as well. This narrator is PERFECT for this series. KEEP HIM! Anyone who says different is an effin nut! I've gone back a couple of times and listened to the last scene where Gater first sees Flame after her chemo with all her hair gone several times just to listen to that seductive Cajun drawl. (Did i mention I love the Cajun accent??) Mr. Stechschulte nailed the scene, inflecting the perfect amount of lust and love in his reading. Perfect narration to a perfect story.
This was a grest audio book, the narrator made this a great listen i so enjoyed it never stooped listening, thanks audible
Was not disappointed with Gator and Flame's story. Gator is such a ladies man but this shows a different side to him. Loyal and protective. Great book.
I have read Christine Feehan books but this series I really like.. this fast moving book has lots of twists and turns, I enjoyed the suspense of this book and the romance. this was my first of the Series that i have read, i need to go back and get the rest of the books so I can catch up, but i didn't feel like i missed anything this story held its own even with me not reading the others first.
I hope that you like this book as much as i have i am now getting the others and am hoping they are as good as this one was.
Hot romance/Sci Fi we're so lucky to have Audible to feed our book addictions. I love walking my precious dog Sydney & listening to my books
Overall this was another great installment of the GhostWalkers series & has left me very keen to read the next book. I'm very curious to see if Flame's theory is correct - I have a strong suspicion that it is but I'll have to read Conspiracy Theory to find out. If you're a fan of paranormal romance and like a bit of Hot Sex thrown into the mix I'd definitely recommend giving this series a try.
When Gator is asked to return home to the Bayou to investigate the disappearance of a family friend Lily has another task for him. She has reason to believe that Iris (known as Flame), one of the girls Dr Whitney experimented on as a child, is in the area. Gator is the only GhostWalker with psychic abilities to match Flame's so it is up to him to track her down. Flame has every reason not to trust Lily or any of the other GhostWalkers so it's going to take all of Gator's charm to bring her round.
Although Night Game is the third book in the GhostWalkers series I think you could easily read this as a stand alone story. However, I'm really enjoying this series so I'd definitely recommend reading the books in order starting with Shadow Game. I think Night Game was probably my favorite book in the series so far, it will take you on a complete roller coaster of emotion laughing one minute and close to tears the next. I think Christine Feehan managed to create the perfect blend of action and romance along with some great bedroom action.
I really loved Gator - he is charming, funny and sexy as hell. He fell for Flame hard and wasn't afraid to show his feelings despite her reluctance to get involved. I loved the banter between him, his brother and the other GhostWalkers and they had me laughing quite a few times. Another great character was his Grandmother - all I'm going to say is watch out for the bag she gives to Flame, hilarious!
Flame was a great heroine, she was strong and tough and prepared to stick up for herself but at the same time she had a vulnerable side and my heart went out to her. She had an incredibly tough start to life at the mercy of Dr Whitney and it isn't surprising that she doesn't trust anyone who was involved in the experiments that were carried out on her as a child. Some of the scenes with her were heartbreaking and I was close to tears on several occasions.
the way he maid Gators laid back ways so funny and sexy also the way Flame and he got along.
Gator i love the cagon and french way he talked.
Gator and his protective way he was with his family and Flame.
a very explosive pair.
I think out of all the ghostwalkers books I have read so far this has been my favorite so far. I love Christeens books all of the carpathian novels were also great.
