Publisher's summary

Nothing sucks the romance out of world travel like a boyfriend who may or may not have broken up with you in a hotel room in Brussels. Jane Jameson's sexy sire Gabriel has always been unpredictable, but the seductive, anonymous notes that await him at each stop of their international vacation, coupled with his evasive behavior over the past few months, finally push Jane onto the next flight home to Half Moon Hollow -- alone, upset, and unsure whether Gabriel just ended their relationship without actually telling her.

Now the children's-librarian-turned-vampire is reviving with plenty of Faux Type O, some TLC from her colorful friends and family, and her plans for a Brave New Jane. Step One: Get her newly renovated occult bookstore off the ground. Step Two: Support her best friend, Zeb, and his werewolf bride as they prepare for the impending birth of their baby...or litter. Step Three: Figure out who's been sending her threatening letters, and how her hostile pen pal is tied to Gabriel. Because for this nice girl, surviving a broken heart is suddenly becoming a matter of life and undeath.

Different enough

Continuing with a nice addition to the series. Different enough to keep things interesting and enough comedy to make it worth the read.

Fun fun fun!

I really enjoyed this entire series. I wasnt looking for anything heavy, just some fun and light "listening" for my commute.

The narrator has a great voice! I really loved her style. (It reminded me of something between Julia Roberts in Steal Magnolias and Emma Stone in The Help.)

The story itself was really easy listening. Something I could listen to, forget about for a few days then jump right back in. Though, there were a few times where I actually stayed in my car 10 minutes longer than I needed to, just to hear what was about to happen!

If you have read the Betsey/Undead books and liked them, youll like the similar style of humor in this book. (Only, I think if Betsey ever met Jane, she'd want to give her a makeover and burn all her shoes...heck, after the description of some of her footwear, I want to burn them!)

While the main character is a "vampire," I wouldnt necessarily limit this book to the vampire genre. There is a lot of humanity to the characters and even if you dont have one of THOSE sisters/mothers/friends, there is still someone in this story you can relate to.

Worth the purchase!

Good story; a little annoying

I have been reading pretty much all of Molly Harper's series. My favorite being Naked Werewolf. So, that makes me a little biased. I have been enjoying the series thus far but some of the more repetitive elements have become a little annoying. The constant fights that Jane gets into...and gets beat up. As if she hasn't learned ANYTHING. The arguments she's always in with her family that she NEVER wins. She says something snarky but it doesn't really DO much. The grandmother is GRATING ON MY NERVES as a character. I feel like every book her favorite line is "I am not speaking to you until you apologize!" I get it that she's supposed to appear closed-minded and irrational. But, that particular line of the story isn't moving anywhere. Just gets a little droning.

I am happy that the issue with Gabriel has finally opened up because that was also getting annoying. All the Jane trust me's were truly driving me bonkers.

It seems like I don't like this series, but I do. I have really enjoyed it. This one isn't my favorite but it was still enjoyable. Narrator is perfect as always.

(Member’s Mom) Instant Giggle One-liners.

I must say, and this applies to all Molly Harper's books, if you like the humor of Ellen DeGeneres, you will love the humor and Amanda Ronconi's ability to pull it off.

Another mystery and funny story.

Finally Zeb and Jolene got married and had their babies 👶 👶. Jane is making back up with Gabriel. Spicy sex here and there and as always laughter.

Audio version is excellent! The narration by Amanda Ronconi is perfect. She is Jane! Great job!

Cringy-worthy relatives

Jane's relatives are so nasty that I really struggled to finish the book. The good news is that there is a relief to some of that tension by the end of the book, but it was really unpleasant to get through to that part.
