Publisher's summary

Nothing sucks the romance out of world travel like a boyfriend who may or may not have broken up with you in a hotel room in Brussels. Jane Jameson's sexy sire Gabriel has always been unpredictable, but the seductive, anonymous notes that await him at each stop of their international vacation, coupled with his evasive behavior over the past few months, finally push Jane onto the next flight home to Half Moon Hollow -- alone, upset, and unsure whether Gabriel just ended their relationship without actually telling her.

Now the children's-librarian-turned-vampire is reviving with plenty of Faux Type O, some TLC from her colorful friends and family, and her plans for a Brave New Jane. Step One: Get her newly renovated occult bookstore off the ground. Step Two: Support her best friend, Zeb, and his werewolf bride as they prepare for the impending birth of their baby...or litter. Step Three: Figure out who's been sending her threatening letters, and how her hostile pen pal is tied to Gabriel. Because for this nice girl, surviving a broken heart is suddenly becoming a matter of life and undeath.

I probably would not. The only book I've listened to again was The Help.

The continued chaos of Jane's life is delightful. Molly Harper has done a great job of creating quirky characters that you can easily visualize as you listen.

I really like the references

I have to say that after I listened to the first book. which I had high hopes for, I felt a little disappointed, maybe because of my expectations, but I found it funny and entertaining and so I continued with the next one and my "like" improved and now. after reading the third book, I am a fan. A fan of the characters, the story, and I really really LOVE the references to Austen, to TV series, to movies, to other books, etc.
I will continue with these books and recommend these books to people that like dry humor, and sarcasm, as well as friendship and love.

How do you take care of a problem like Jeannine

Would you listen to Nice Girls Don't Live Forever again? Why?

This is a book. I listen to frequently to get quip and a laugh. Great to listen to while doing chores.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Nice Girls Don't Live Forever?

Jane is at the Winter Festival and gets into a physical fight with her sister.

Have you listened to any of Amanda Ronconi’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I am a fan. Well done

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When the waiter realises Jane is a vampire and nudged her into ordering a vampire beverage. Jane tells the Chamber of Commerce that she is a vampire. It does the soul great to hear certain people put in their place.

Any additional comments?

Break up, getting back together, werewolf baby, crazy vampire child of boyfriend, crazy family dynamic and more add to entertainment of book.

Fun addition to the series- Great narrator!

I had read the first two in the series in print and really enjoyed them but I have to say that I am glad I listened to this one instead because Amanda Ronconi is a really good narrator. She does Jane's signature snark superbly. The story is fun (and funny) but if you haven't read the first two in the series, I wouldn't start with this one. I suggest starting at the beginning. I would describe the series as paranormal "chick lit". The books are light, funny and overall a highly enjoyable way to spend several hours.

Another great story from Molly Harper

What made the experience of listening to Nice Girls Don't Live Forever the most enjoyable?

This is a very funny story with surprisingly believable characters. I listen to audiobooks as I drive and this one had me laughing so hard, I had to pull to the side of the road. A trooper stopped to see if I was okay and for a moment (or two or three), he thought I was under the influence of something other than an audiobook. I was laughing so hard, I had tears rolling down my cheeks.I'm from Kentucky originally, and I get a kick out of Ms. Ronconi's narration and Molly is spot on with the characters. If you enjoy southern female authors with a somewhat twisted sense of humor, you'll adore Molly and the folks in Half Moon Hollow. She makes me homesick for McLean and Butler Counties, and her stories really do "explain a lot". ...just kidding, I don't really have redneck, werewolf relatives, and I don't think there were vampires nearby, but it's close!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Oh, that's hard. I keep coming back to Molly's books for Jane and Gabriel, but Jolene (is that the right spelling) is hilarious, and Sherry, Jane's mama is a close second, or fourth depending on your counting. All of the characters add to the story though, so it's really difficult to pick a single favorite.

Have you listened to any of Amanda Ronconi’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes. She's a wonderful reader and I enjoy her characterization of the different voices in the Jane Jameson novels. She was also very good in And One Last Thing and the Witches Handbook of Kisses and Curses. I haven't really heard her read another's author's books, but I'm sure she's just as good. I suppose I should check out what she has listed, shouldn't I?

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely, in fact I brought it inside and listened all the way through. I thought about going online and ordering the final book in the series right then, but my husband convinced me to wait. It WAS 3:00 AM, and I had to work the next morning!

Any additional comments?

This book is absolutely worth your credit. I'd recommend listening the earlier installments in the series, but it's not a bad stand alone story. The above mentioned husband got wrapped up in this one about an hour into the story and he stuck with it right up until that 3:AM bedtime. He was laughing so hard a couple of times, he frightened our dogs...and he's not even from Kentucky!

Jane Jameson Rocks!

What made the experience of listening to Nice Girls Don't Live Forever the most enjoyable?

Amanda Ranconi is perfect for this series. Her wonderful expressions of wry humor and sarcasm make for great listening.

What did you like best about this story?

The best part of the story was the way Jane handled her conflicting feelings about Gabriel.

Have you listened to any of Amanda Ronconi’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have listened to several of the Jane Jameson books narrated by Amanda Ronconi and none of them have disappointed. Her voice is such a compliment to the series and I can't imagine anyone else doing these characters. I also listened to Ms. Harpers Naked Werewolf series, also narrated by Ms. Ronconi and they were fabulous also.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Gabriel apologizing to Jane was moving for me. He really is a sweetheart, just needs some lessons in romance.

Any additional comments?

This is a fangtasticly fun series, I love it!

Hilarious

This series so far has been hilarious. Narration has been spot-on. Wish the series to be in omnibus or multiple books per credit.
