Publisher's summary

Maybe it was the Shenanigans gift certificate that put her over the edge. When children's librarian and self-professed nice girl Jane Jameson is fired by her beastly boss and handed $25 in potato skins instead of a severance check, she goes on a bender that's sure to become Half Moon Hollow legend. On her way home, she's mistaken for a deer, shot, and left for dead. And thanks to the mysterious stranger she met while chugging neon-colored cocktails, she wakes up with a decidedly unladylike thirst for blood.

Jane is now the latest recipient of a gift basket from the Newly Undead Welcoming Committee, and her life-after-lifestyle is taking some getting used to. Her recently deceased favorite aunt is now her ghostly roommate. She has to fake breathing and endure daytime hours to avoid coming out of the coffin to her family. She's forced to forgo her favorite down-home Southern cooking for bags of O negative. Her relationship with her sexy, mercurial vampire sire keeps running hot and cold. And if all that wasn't enough, it looks like someone in Half Moon Hollow is trying to frame her for a series of vampire murders. What's a nice undead girl to do?

Love in vein: bite into more of Jane Jameson's paranormal exploits.

Surprisingly good

I picked this up in a 2-for-1 sale, and....I was pleasantly surprised. I go through 2-3 books a month, and it's been a while since I've enjoyed a book this much. Despite some glaringly obvious plot holes, and a couple of contrived plot twists, the book was laugh out loud funny. Or at least chuckle-to-yourself-repeatedly funny. Looking forward to the next book.

A Joy from Beginning to End

I don't know anything about the author apart from reading this book, but I am pretty sure that I would very much enjoy her company. Needless to say, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Specifically, I loved the writing style, which was dripping with tongue-in-cheek humor. If you have any sense of humor and are looking for entertainment, you've found it here.

Funny

I loved this story. Answered some vampire questions I had. I have to find out what happens next.

Funny

For a book about vampires, undead, and librarians, it was quite witty and at points had me laughing out loud. Audible did an excellent job with a great reader to bring out the nuances.

Pretty good - a fun read.

Nothing exceptional regarding the story - a loveless girl navigating her way now that she is a vampire. But the voices and performance of the reader were awesome. Totally made the story.

Roll of the floor funny!

This is a great read that you can just relax to! The Amanda Ronconi is hilarious as ever and her character voices are awesome. I did get an eye twitch every time there was a continuity error “Weeks” were really like 3 days and “days ago” literally happened a few hours ago in certain cases- but I can overlook it (Molly Harper has done that before in Changeling) and sometimes I want to pummel our leading lady on the head because she has NO survival instinct. At all. And her priorities are a little screwed up sometimes. Still, a wonderful book and I immediately got the next. Nothing like enjoying a book and then seeing it’s actually a series!!

A fluffy female vampire story.

What did you love best about Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs?

The story was rather weak. I would consider it an okay read. It would not encourage me to get the next one in the series.

Hilarious

I truly enjoyed this book. However, the author seemed to ramble mid-way through the book. Great book to clean house or jog to.

very funny!

What made the experience of listening to Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs the most enjoyable?

The reader, Amanda Ronconi, does a great job. I think she comes off as really being Jane. She makes the character seem real and personal and so easy to identify with. You almost expect you could arrange to meet her (Jane)!

Any additional comments?

I wasn't sure about this series. I enjoyed reading Twilight (but am not a rabid Twi-fan, lol!) but was a little leery of the vast amount of Vampire fiction out there now. The reviews for this book got me to try it. Everyone said it was funny. I agree. I laughed out loud, over and over again. The

Meh and predictable

Over dramatic and pretty basic. Follows the usual lines of "the guy becomes obsessed and falls wildly in love immediately, even though the female protagonist hasn't done anything." Kind of reads like fantasy fulfillment fan fiction (ooo, the alliteration).
