Publisher's summary

Maybe it was the Shenanigans gift certificate that put her over the edge. When children's librarian and self-professed nice girl Jane Jameson is fired by her beastly boss and handed $25 in potato skins instead of a severance check, she goes on a bender that's sure to become Half Moon Hollow legend. On her way home, she's mistaken for a deer, shot, and left for dead. And thanks to the mysterious stranger she met while chugging neon-colored cocktails, she wakes up with a decidedly unladylike thirst for blood.

Jane is now the latest recipient of a gift basket from the Newly Undead Welcoming Committee, and her life-after-lifestyle is taking some getting used to. Her recently deceased favorite aunt is now her ghostly roommate. She has to fake breathing and endure daytime hours to avoid coming out of the coffin to her family. She's forced to forgo her favorite down-home Southern cooking for bags of O negative. Her relationship with her sexy, mercurial vampire sire keeps running hot and cold. And if all that wasn't enough, it looks like someone in Half Moon Hollow is trying to frame her for a series of vampire murders. What's a nice undead girl to do?

Love in vein: bite into more of Jane Jameson's paranormal exploits.

"Hysterical laughs are the hallmark of this enchanting paranormal debut....Harper keeps the quips coming without overdoing the sarcasm, and her take on vampire lore will intrigue and entertain even the most jaded paranormal fan." ( Publishers Weekly)

Well worth the money

This series is very good. The books are funny and well written. There is enough suspense that they move at a fast clip. I would love for her to write another series or continue Jane's adventures.

For a good laugh listen to this series!!

I will always be a fan of this author. I love her humor and found myself laughing out loud at the most inappropriate times. Amanda did an amazing job of narrating the story. I love all vampire stories and this one is at the top of my list of all time fave's. It is a unique spin one the subject matter. I would see myself having the same dumb luck as the main character if vampires were real. Enjoy!!

Quirky, snarky, sexy, - my kind of book!

Although I found this book more amusing than funny, I did have several muffled sniggers! This book had the mystery, romance, humor and the fantastic (in the form of vampires) all wrapped up in a nice quirky, snarky package. The narrator was awesome too. A very enjoyable listen, and I just purchased the 2nd book!!

Funny Funny Funny

I listened to all three books while doing the tedious task of cleaning house. I was so enthralled with them and laughed so hard it was a pleasure to clean up, my house is immaculate. Highly recommend this, especially for those of us who don't always get enough laughter in our lives.

Funny easy Listen.

Funny easy fast listen. Is really good series. I even had my teenage son laughing while on a long drive to military base to see his sister. Now, that is a work of art.

Super funny

First of all, this book is definitely a vampire comedy with a little romance thrown in. If you are looking for serious plots or some intricate puzzling secret to figure out then you’ll be disappointed.

That being said, if you’re up for a comedy, just rolling with the witty one liners, and taking the story for what it is then you’ll be laughing out loud throughout the whole thing.

I personally love supernatural romances, my boyfriend not so much. However, when we went on a long trip in the car and the intended audiobook fell through on the boring factor, I suggested this one since it was the only other short one in my library. Of course, my boyfriend grumbled a bit when I told him the plot line and made no promises as to whether he would want to finish this one. That all went out the window as we were laughing together the whole car ride and discussing the characters and who we liked best. He even asked to finish it when the trip was over! Not to mention he asked if we could give book two a listen.

So my point is, even if this might not be your cup of tea or you have reservations about giving it a listen, you should definitely try it. It’s a great book for laughs and a not too serious plot so you don’t have to worry about paying super close attention to still enjoy it. Plus the reader was so good! Really did a good job with the voices and narration!

Can’t wait for more!

Amanda Ronconi narrating Molly Harper’s words is nothing short of pure comedic perfection! I can’t wait to find out what happens next in Jane’s chaotic life!
