Publisher's summary

Maybe it was the Shenanigans gift certificate that put her over the edge. When children's librarian and self-professed nice girl Jane Jameson is fired by her beastly boss and handed $25 in potato skins instead of a severance check, she goes on a bender that's sure to become Half Moon Hollow legend. On her way home, she's mistaken for a deer, shot, and left for dead. And thanks to the mysterious stranger she met while chugging neon-colored cocktails, she wakes up with a decidedly unladylike thirst for blood.

Jane is now the latest recipient of a gift basket from the Newly Undead Welcoming Committee, and her life-after-lifestyle is taking some getting used to. Her recently deceased favorite aunt is now her ghostly roommate. She has to fake breathing and endure daytime hours to avoid coming out of the coffin to her family. She's forced to forgo her favorite down-home Southern cooking for bags of O negative. Her relationship with her sexy, mercurial vampire sire keeps running hot and cold. And if all that wasn't enough, it looks like someone in Half Moon Hollow is trying to frame her for a series of vampire murders. What's a nice undead girl to do?

Love in vein: bite into more of Jane Jameson's paranormal exploits.

it's good

Molly Harper has great sense of humor in her writing. I absolutely loved How to Date your Dragon, and this book series shares the humor and wacky southern experience.

The notable difference in this series is the completely over the top dissonant psychopathic family dysfunction.

Why 4 stars instead of 5
For instance. In book two there are multiple simultaneous instances where "crazy family drama" passes the barrier to actually an obviously dangerous unstable person who needs to be institutionalized. Situations like this stretch credulity and overfill the drama a bit.

Must listen! 5/5

This is the first book I've bought in this app that does not belong in the business and self development section. I fell in love with this book. Molly Harper has written a fantastic piece, and the way Amanda Ronconi tells the story makes it a magical trip. There was several times I burst out in laughter, even in public places, smiling from ear to ear. I will most definitely check out more content from Molly Harper and Amanda Ronconi! Buy the book, thank me later ✌️

Well written, will performed, but somewhat plain

I enjoyed this book enough to finish it, even though until the last two hours it just seemed somewhat plain to me. There are funny parts all over the book, and I feel like in the end the book did tell a complete story. It just didn't blow me away.

Jane Jameson Vampire Series Will Make You Laugh

This series follows Jane Jameson a small town librarian who turned into a vamp when she was shot after being mistaken for a deer. Jane's money grubbing relatives, werewolves friends, & their trashy relatives come together to create fun stories about their daily lives. If you don't laugh out loud something is wrong! Even my husband who normally refuses to listen audio books couldn't keep from grunting out a laugh or two. The narrator is great & adds a lot to each character.

Interesting, The book moved along.

The book moved along! A few dry spots, but an interesting character. The lead was adorable, and a few spots where I was wondering where the author was taking me. Over all I liked the story and found the characters quirky and interesting. It reminded me of a cross between True Blood and Twilight. Good mash up, with a crazy Mom Daughter dead Grandma dynamic.

not my cup of tea

Too juvenile of a story line for my taste. Narrator was really good though. If you done mind a basic plot and predictable tale, you will like this.

Funny, entertaining PNR

Small town librarian, Jane Jameson, loses her job and her life all in one day. Three days later she awakens as a vampire. Besides trying to figure out how she’ll come out to her passive aggressive dysfunctional family, attempting to find a new job, and dating her sexy new sire, Jane struggles to survive; because someone is out to get her.

Although the ending was predictable, the story was quick and fun. Jane’s family really got on my nerves and there were several instances when I wanted her to show more of a backbone when it came to the women in her life. Since this is the first book in the series, I’m guessing the writer is providing room for character development and lots of growth. At least, that is my hope.
