For Abby Renard, the plan was supposed to be simple - join her brothers' band on the last leg of their summer tour and decide if she's finally ready for the limelight. Of course, she never imagined that stumbling onto the wrong tour bus at Rock Nation would accidentally land her in the bed of Jake Slater, the notorious womanizing lead singer of Runaway Train. When he mistakes her for one of his groupies, Abby quickly lets him know she sure as hell isn't in his bed on purpose. Jake Slater never imagined that the angel who fell into his bed would resist his charms by promptly kneeing him in the balls. Of course, the fact that she seems like a prissy choir girl makes her anything but his type. So he is more than surprised when, after betting Abby that she won't last a week on their tour bus, she is more than willing to prove him wrong. But as Jake's personal life begins to implode around him, he finds an unlikely ally in Abby. He's never met a woman he can talk to, joke with, and most importantly, make music with. As the week comes to a close, neither Abby nor Jake is ready to let go. Can a sweetheart country songstress and a rock 'n' roll bad boy actually have a future together?

I'm proud to be a bookaholic...addicted, obsessed, passionate!!! My favorite way to relax & escape reality....
First, the narrators are great! I need to be honest.... I am a sucker for romances involving sexy hot rock stars! Music of the Heart is done in both Jake’s and Abby’s POV. Abby, a Christian good girl, on her way to meet up with her brothers' Christian rock band accidentally finds herself traveling on the wrong rock band's tour bus.. She supposed to be making some appearances with her brother's band so she can decide whether or not she wants a career as a musician. Instead Abby ends up making a bet with the famous rock god man slut, Jake. To win the bet she must stay on the tour bus with him and the band for a week. Jake makes the bet with "angel" that she would not be able to handle a week on their tour bus. Abby may be sweet & innocent but she is not going to let this rocker tell her what to do. The chemistry and witty banter between Jake and Abby is fabulous! You instantly love Jake and all his band mates. Abby is a take no crap kind of girl. Growing up with three brothers she knows how to hold her own. She’s grown up in a Christian home and is proud to still be a virgin. She has very little insecurities when it comes to her self esteem and moral values. She knows what she wants and it’s not some one night stand with a guy that’s not going to love her. There's a ton of tension & drama but within the week sparks start to ignite into something more between them. They have a whirlwind romance full of ups and downs. Jake definitely makes you love him one minute and want to smack him in the head the next. Overall, Music of the Heart is a rock star romance about two musically gifted people falling in love.... one person just happens to be a tattooed rocker & the other is a country good girl with a pure heart. The story does have some emotional family issues, crazy ex lovers, sexual chemistry, and first time experiences. Happy listening!
This was a short and sweet love story. Some of the dialog was a bit corny but all and all a good read. If your in the mood for a light love story that ends with no over done trilogy then go for it.
Justine was great as usual, I don't know why they are doing more and more duel narration, I hate it, It's like watching a movie with two actors playing the same part. I think good narrators make the characters and just when you get used to them someone else comes in a messes it all up. Anyway enough of my ranting, Happy reading!!
It's all about romance in my library! I have a wonderful husband, children and my grandchildren they are my rock.
Yes, it was a good story line.
There were a couple of memorable moments - 1st Abbie and Jake sang together. 2nd When Jake lost his mother.
They both did an excellent job. It's hard to choose.
I will keep it the same as the book. Because they both sang from the heart.
I hated that this book switched from a woman reader to a man reader. Mason Lloyd made the heroine sound like a drag queen. I could barely get through listening to his chapters. Then when Justine O.Keef picked up with Mia's chapters the heroine sounded normal again. I don't mind Justine O.Keef's man voice but Mason Lloyd's lady voice is horrible.
I hated that this book switched from a woman reader to a man reader and that Mason Lloyd mad the heroine sound like a drag queen.
I don't normally do reviews but this audio book was so bad other readers should know to just read the kindle version.
I suggest they redo this audio book with just Justine O.Keef as the reader.
sing songy predictable fairytale story with every cliche there can be
hot gorgeous virgin meets troubled oversexed rocker . immediately fall in love within the first 36 hours but due to a bj in a diner closet with the waitress and a loud sex romp with a groupie...shes not sure.
what a joke
do not waste your time on this one
Civil War Nut LH
I usually like my heroes to see the object of their affection and stop in their tracks (no other woman will do). This hero was a little more flawed than I like.
Overall, the story was okay. I was reading the Kindle version while I was listening to the Audible version. I've listened to several books narrated by Justine so she alone would have saved this book for me. It seemed like the sentences were cleaned up for the Audible version; otherwise, I would have asked for my money back. I don't understand how the editing could have been so bad when the author taught middle-school and high-school English for 11 years.
A five year old, the dialog in this book is hard to listen to, I can believe a publisher thought this was okay.
I am an avid reader of fiction. I have found that listening to audio books adds another layer of appreciation to the art of writing.
I liked that it had a main character who was religious but normal!! Abbi really has a lot of moxi!!!
Jacob ... he really had internal battles to fight.
***Spoiler**** When his mother died. I don't want to say any more because it will ruin the story .
Yes, when Jacob's mother is on her death bed.
This was a book that was a fun read. It had many emotions from many characters. This book was the first in the series but I did not read it first. I wish I had! The female performer was great ... the male performer needs to work on his "Angel" voice.
I'm one of the reviewers at the Guilty Indulgence Review Site. I am always reading - I don't go anywhere without an ebook or audiobook!
Another rocker romance with nothing phenomenal to offer. It's not great but it's not awful. There's just so much more out there to choose from that I enjoyed more.
