Tyler Montclair wasn't looking for love on that rainy night. He'd just narrowly escaped a five-year relationship with a nutcase. All he had to worry about now was avoiding damsels in distress, his weakness, and sheltering his brothers from generations of family secrets that could change their lives forever.
Renee Preston is on the run. Her abusive husband, Robert, is after her...but so is Tyler Montclair. She doesn't need a knight in shining armor to rescue her, so she avoids him like the plague. But every time she closes her eyes, there he is. Up close and personal.
But for these two lost souls, fate has a different plan. Before they know it, their lives are entwined in ways they could have never imagined. When an unlikely series of events sends everyone's world into a tailspin, the Montclairs band together for a fight they never expected.
Castle Lake is their destination. The family secrets could be their undoing. Robert could be their demise.

This is a hard one to answer. Yes and No. I enjoyed the book, but the other books of this series are not on audio as yet - so you have to read them at this point. I use audio books for when I have other things to do. I take my kindle kayaking, out to weed the garden, etc...which means, I would not be able to listen to this as a series as a whole and for that reason I would probably not pick it to listen to again...unless the rest of the books in the series come out. Then, yes, I would listen to it again.
I like Tyler. He is a very good man. He tried to take care of everyone, his brothers, his girlfriend, his workers and even a young homeless boy. He's fiercely protective even to his own detriment.
Tyler. Although, I think he did a great job with everyone.
Watch out for the HUGE CLIFFHANGER!!!! :)
No. I avoid authors who deliberately leave their readers hanging. Ben Pratt's narration was ok.
I can't blame the narrator for the material he worked with.
The story dragged--probably to prolong plot to justify cliffhanger and compel readers to buy next book.
Yes! I love the story line and love listening to Ben as the narrator! I was lost for 6 hours, and didn't even realize the 6 hours were up, already! I was sad when it ended, *sighs*
I dont think there is another book to compare this with. It's an original story!
Reading it, you create your own imagine/voices of them, but when Ben reads it, he brings them to life. He makes it feel real, with all his different voices of the characters.
Just listening and becoming a part of the story, does bring out the emotions. Whether you're laughing or crying. I did both! Ben does a fantastic job,
Ben's voice really pulls you into the story. Yes, reading it does too, but when listening to someone reading it for you. (with a voice like his) It just brings you to a whole knew level. I really enjoyed listening to "Make it Rain" I recommend this to everyone!!!
Kudos again, to Terri and Ben!!
