Montana Kincaid figures if writing a mail order bride worked out so well for his youngest brother, why not try it himself? He's made sure to ask all the right questions so he doesn't end up with any of the surprises Jessie had. But life is often full of surprises - unfortunately, they're not all good surprises!
Mary Dobson lost her parents when she was still a child. Her aunt and uncle took her in and to raise. Out of obligation, Mary corresponded with Calvin, a friend of theirs, but stopped writing him once she started receiving letters from Montana. Unsettled by a recent letter from Calvin, Mary decides it best that she join her fiancé, Montana, several months earlier than planned.
Did runaway brides exist as early as the 1800s? Or is there more trouble brewing on the homestead? The Kincaids are not strangers to danger, but this time, will they lose a new addition to their family?

Audio books are growing. I have listened to books for months now, But I prefer my books in paperback/hardback format.
I should've listen to book one before I played this one. Oh well. I didn't really like this book. Didn't really catch my attention as it did others. That's why I rated this book a 3 star.

Addicted to audiobooks. Can't go a day without it. Makes housekeeping, cooking and hobbyist more interesting.
First off the narrator is just the voice for the series.
A western era mail order bride series is such an original idea. I love the fact that the brothers find good women this way.
These sort stories are sweet and clean. You can't help falling in love with all of the family.
This novella is a short, sweet and fun story. I liked it because it was a quick listen when I knew that I wouldn't have time for a longer one. Narration was very good.

I'm really loving this series of short story Mail Order Brides. Each one is about a different brother in one family and how he finds his bride to be and their subsequent marriage.
In this book, the bride gets kidnapped and the story tells of the excitement of the chase and how they eventually find her again. Of course the bride and groom have fallen deeply in love and I hope, they live happily ever-after.
Short, sweet, believable and totally enjoyable.
The narration was of a high caliber too.

I love this series, the books are the perfect length for my walk or cooking dinner. This one features Montana, the 27 year old brother. He has sent for his bride, only to find out that she is being stalked by a previous suitor arranged by her parents. Mary arrives in House Springs several days early and the chemistry between Montana and Mary is immediate. The letters between them did not disappoint their actual meeting. They marry and right away, the stalker arrives. Can Montana save her? I won't let the ending out! Susette Williams is able to develop the characters in the short novellas so that you feel you know this family!
Lawrence Yaklin has a great performance. His voice is perfect for historical western romance.

A short sweet romance with a spurned suitor. A bit of mystery thrown in for good measure.
The narration was well done, The characters were excellently portrayed.
I am a fun loving mom that enjoys a great Book!! I'm happy to have Audible with a busy life it makes it so easy to still get lost in a book!
Short but Good!! I love all of the Mail Order Bride series! I only wish they were longer!
No spoilers! Love HOT, sexy books w/a plot. No vampires, paranormal, teens 4 me. I also review in exchange for books-lots of fun surprises!
👤 This may contain spoilers as it is the second in the series. Please do not read any further if you have not read number one called Jessie's Bride.
A mail order bride worked so well for his younger brother Jesse, Montana thought he would give it a try. Before long he was head over heels for his gal, Mary.
Mary thought Montana was wonderful and could not wait until she could join him and start their lives together. There was just one detail that Mary needed to take care of before leaving… Charles. She had written to him, as well, out of a sense of obligation to her aunt and uncle who raised her. She told Montana about him and reiterated that he she had no interest in.
How will the jilted letter writer handle her intentions to move and join Montana?
Again, an hour-long novelette by Susette Williams. Her stated purpose in writing the book at this length for the listener who is busy, busy… One can easily take an hour out of his/her day and forget about real life for that time.
There are so many details packed into this one hour story. I hope that one day Susette Williams will either extend the novel or write a full-length book. She has all the tools that would make for a great full length novel.
Excellent narration, it kept me engaged without being distracting. Kudos to Lawrence D. Yaklin.
Note: There is nothing to warn about with this "Christian book. I put Christian in quotes because while it is part of the families beliefs, the author does a wonderful job of using it without being preachy. There is enough morality to keep the relationship and intimacy from straying.
While *I was offered a copy of this book in exchange for my review, I am quickly becoming a fan of Susette Williams. I will definitely look her up for any other audio books that may be out there and add them to my Wish List.

It makes me happy to wake up everyday and look forward to listening. Many times I listen while doing artwork. I find it very relaxing.
Montana's Bride was especially good. Mary was writing to a man named Calvin out of feelings of obligation then decided to go out west to marry Montana. Things are going pretty well until she receives an unexpected visitor. This book had a good twist.
Again, I love this series. It has a most relaxing affect on me. I like the way Susette Williams has them all linked together and hope she keeps writing them. They could go far.
Lawrence D. Yaklin did another terrific performance with this audiobook. His voice is relaxing as well. He has a good western tone that's perfect for the stories. Another awesome listen.
