Publisher's summary

The hottest collection of studs in romance” (New York Times best-selling author Angela Knight) returns as J. R. Ward brings together two of the most beloved people in the Black Dagger Brotherhood world - at last...

Qhuinn, son of no one, is used to being on his own. Disavowed from his bloodline, shunned by the aristocracy, he has found an identity as a brutal fighter in the war against the Lessening Society. But his life is not complete. Even as the prospect of having a family of his own seems within reach, he is empty on the inside, his heart given to another...

Blay, after years of unrequited love, has moved on from his feelings for Qhuinn. And it’s about time: It seems Qhuinn has found his perfect match in a Chosen female, and they are going to have a young. It’s hard for Blay to see the new couple together, but building your life around a pipe dream is just a heartbreak waiting to happen. And Qhuinn needs to come to terms with some dark things before he can move forward...

Fate seems to have taken these vampire soldiers in different directions, but as the battle over the race’s throne intensifies, and new players on the scene in Caldwell create mortal danger for the Brotherhood, Qhuinn learns the true meaning of courage, and two hearts meant to be together finally become one.

Excellent Continuation

I've been waiting since Book 4 for a the Quinn & Blay story, and I can say I wasn't disappointed. Well done, and fully fleshed out.

This book like many others in the series is not just about the principles but those that surround them, and even introduction of new characters. Ward has outdone herself again.

Love this story

Have you listened to any of Jim Frangione’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I've listened to all of Jim Frangione's readings of JR Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood books. It took me a while to warm up to his style, but once I did, I really can't imagine anyone else reading them.

Any additional comments?

I've read this book at least twice and now listened to it too. Knowing the story, I tended to fast forward to the storylines for Qhuinn and Blay - just a great, slow burn romance. It was a long time in the making and totally worth the wait.

Wow! This book was Fantasic!!!

Would you listen to Lover at Last again? Why?

Absolutely! I find that each time I listen to a book, I discover things that I missed the first time.

Who was your favorite character and why?

My favorite character is Zsadist. I believe that of all the brothers, he has the biggest heart.

Which scene was your favorite?

When Quinn landed the plane and was so focused on saving Zsadist's life for his shellan and his young.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes.

Good Story .. But

What did you love best about Lover at Last?

I really like the characters and the history of the brotherhood. I wish that each book wasn't so similar in some ways. It's always some hunk of a guy finding so OK girl, and falling in love. I know it's everyones fantasy, but it's every story plot. If you can get past some of the goofy "all of us girls will find a wekk built hunk of our own" logic, then the back story is pretty good.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I really like Z, a crazy and horribly scared brother with attitude.

What about Jim Frangione’s performance did you like?

The Narrator is awesome. He thickened his accent a bit for this book, but other than that..

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

It would just make a great film. I'm a reader not a writer.

"The Brothers"

Once again, J.R. Ward did not disappoint. She has a natural gift of developing a story-line that
will keep you on your toes. She not only writes about the main character in the book but also about other supporting characters. It so nice to be kept up to date about the other players. The narrator Jim Frangione has the voice of a god that thrills and chills every bone in my body. Thank you.

Proof that Two Vampires are better then One!

As with most serious BDB fans I was seriously juiced waiting for this installment. Lets face it the cover alone is going to bring in new fans. Qhuinn is so freakin hot. We have waited a long time for these guys to get themselves on the same page.

Trust me when I say it means a lot for a single woman to be excited about the relationship of 2 gorgeous men getting together. This has been one of the longest and best build ups to a relationship in the series. So real fans are truly saying "its about time".

Great to see the shadow brothers Trez and Iam are getting more involved we would like to see exactly what their preternatural skills are. Glad to see Asal mixing it up and we should remember the comments made in the last book about him being good enough that he should have become part of the Brotherhood.

A few things I didn't like. One the time givin to Leyla, when she was just resting and I did not think the relationship with her and Qhuinn was as genuine as it has been in the past. They have always been good friends but it was treated like Qhuinn didn't want to be bothered with her except to ask how she was feeling. Secondly there were way too many things going on in Qhuinns world. And lastly I was disappointed about the way Qhuinn handled his membership considering all the efforts taken by others to make it happen.

Props out to Ward for continuing to bring the Brotherhood into the future. Where our fantasy vampire warriors, live in NY state, wear leather and designer clothes, go to clubs, listen to metal and rap music and don't control who they fall in love with!
