Another great story!

The story is well written. However, it is somewhat difficult to listen to the story and suffering of a drug addicted character. The payoff is being able to share in a story of our main character being able to come to his senses and overcome. I am thrilled with the creation of new characters and the continued development of story lines in progress. I am excited to continue.

Very Insightful

The more times I listen to this book, the more I realize how important it is to the series and I become more of a Phury fan each time. There is so much that happens in this book to move the series and the brothers forward. It is a beautiful and amazing story.

The book came alive in audiobook form

Read Phury’s and Cormia’s story long ago. I’m so glad I added this book to my audiobook Ward collection. Jim Frangione is amazing and the best choice for the Black Dagger Brotherhood novels. The book really delves in deep to the continuing story of the Brothers’ world but the focus on Phury and Cormia’s rocky relationship beginning is good because both are struggling about who they are because of traditions.

In the book, I skimmed over parts—but hearing it—I saw how this book really sets up future books for future novels I’ve already enjoyed. I’m glad I bought it!!

It's Like A Soap Opera

I read these books several years ago but quit around book 10 or 11. I remembered really enjoying the stories & characters but forgot just how irritating all the jumping for one set of characters to another was. By this book so many more characters have been introduced to the world & we're following all of their stories as we go.
It reminds me of a soap opera the way you have a short clip of what's going on here & then it jumps to what's going on over there at essentially a cliff hanger chapter end. It's annoying & if you think it's only because of how much is going on in this book & the next one will be better it's not. This is the same spot it really started to bother me the last time I read these books & I didn't get too much further b4 I gave up.
Once again I think I'm going to put this series aside, even though I was looking forward to getting to some of the characters stories we've only barely been introduced to so far. Hopefully I'll be able to pick up where I left off in the not to distant future. If I take it in pieces maybe I'll be able to get all the way through it.

Exceptional Series

I have seen reviews where some are disappointed in the outcome. Not even. This is unpredictable, fascinating and hot.

I love the series

This series is amazing my husband brought home a copy from active duty and I started reading it and it was just wow
But the guy reading it is not even exciting to listen too
He sounds like a priest trying to guilt trip you into confusing you read naughty things
I think they need to re-record these with different people for each of the brothers
Because the thought of him reading book 5 or 3 makes me a cringe those were the best.

Awesomeness!

Love JR Ward & Jim Frangione's performance. Phury's story is the toughest to make it through because it's so well written and such pain comes to life in it.
