She'd left him naked in her bed about eight hours earlier....

"Entertaining but maybe just a little too cute"

This held promise for a great book and the story line had so much potential.... It was good, but fell way short of great - just a little too young adult and a little too school girlish.....
The narration was very good -- Bliss as herself and the Brit accent for Garrick was also very good.
The story as is would make for a better movie than a book.
Faking It - the next in the series - got much better reviews...but reluctant to use the credit given the lukewarm experience of this audiobook......

"Not my thing - what is New Adult?"

First let’s talk about this “New Adult” thing – basically it’s marketed toward an in between Young Adult and Adult age group. College age and sometimes post-college age. So, the reader are suppose to get main characters that are a little bit more mature in their decisions and life choices. Except, from reading this book I didn’t get the impression that Bliss Edwards was anything other than a 16 year old encased in a 21 year old’s body. It’s not her naivety so much as her immaturity and total sheltered life that have me asking how anyone thought this was a realistic 21 year old? I mean, seriously.

I had a lot of issues with this book – mainly that the reader was suppose to be okay with this whole professor/student thing. If he were a grad student acting as a Teaching Assistant to her class, well that I can go with. In my mind Garrick was probably 27-28? Like, what a perv. Plus he’s her teacher – favoritism, anyone? Totally un-ethical.

I guess I picked up this book with something totally different in mind and that’s why I just wasn’t happy with it. That being said, I listened to this one rather quickly and only now looking back on it do I realize that I didn’t enjoy it as much as I though I was while I was listening to it. (Do you ever have books like that? – you think “Wow! I really like this!” while reading it and then you finish and think it over and it’s like BAM – I did *not* like this book as much as I thought I did.)

Anyway, another audiobook, another good voice actor, but unfortunately this book just wasn’t my cup of tea. The most likable character gets a book of their own in the next installment of the series but I just don’t like the world enough to pick it up.

Just good book with a happy ending. Not much more I can add to it. I liked it but won't be listening to it again.

    Story
"My first read of Cora's and I love it!"
What made the experience of listening to Losing It the most enjoyable?

A lot of the characters emotions are real, or at least as real as they could be if i pictured myself in the situation. In some books, the characters have no sense of self preservation and just dive into whatever the situation is, but in this book Bliss is very realistic and careful when it comes to her decisions. Sometimes.

What did you like best about this story?

I have a love for the theatre and for Broadway so I love how they were incorporated into the book. In a lot of 'New Adult' books the romance can be kind of cheesy and dramatic, nothing like people say in the real world, but Cora kept it classy and the love scenes didn't make me balk at the stuff that was said. It was romantic and sexy without venturing off into crude as some new adult books do.

Which character – as performed by Phoebe Strole – was your favorite?

I loved Bliss, she is sure of herself and is still an independent woman. She has reservations about her relationship with Garrick, and rightly so.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Sometimes one night just isn't enough..

    Any additional comments?

I met Cora at Apollycon 2016 and she was such a down to earth person. I knew when we talked and joked about Harry Potter that I would take a liking to her books! I bought her other book in this series 'Faking it', but wanted to read this one first. I'm glad I did. Cora's writing is done so well. She is classy, and funny while still managing to keep the romance going. I really enjoyed myself. I would recommend this for anyone who is looking for a contemporary love story!

    "very sweet"

I enjoyed this story it was very sweet and had great development. THE Audio portion was decent except for the last chapter from the male perspective - I thought it was horrible. The reader spoke way too fast, I felt nothing from the story, instead concentrated on his super fast delivery.

Not my thing. I would not read it again. I felt it was very high school with a dull storyline.
