Re-read worthy
Absolutely one of the best romantic historical reads ever. This is at least my third read. Characters are all wonderfully imagined., unique and very likable.. Get ready for a wonderful story and marvelous time with Jess and Dane. A real keeper to revisit when you need a getaway.

This is a great book to read and even a better listen. L. Chase creates a horrid man with whom you sympathize. Then her lady is strong, fearless and completely feminine. This book is heartbreaking and still funny. The romance is sensual. The story is surprising. The narrator is outstanding. Her characters are consistent and her voice easy. She bring the book to life. Can you tell this is one of the very best? Completely enjoyable. More stars please!

A delightful, wicked, and clever story.
This has none of the usual endless pining and angst. The h is not a doormat. I especially liked the camaraderie and humor between the main characters. Excellent read!

The narrator, Kate Reading, made a good story great.
This was a very enjoyable story made even better by the excellent narrating skills of Kate Reading. I found myself listening late into the night and finally having to be the grown up and making myself set it aside for the next day. The main female character, Jessica, had endless patience rather than the normal female drama you see in romance novels. Always nice to read/listen to a book that has a twist from the norm.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was my first time with a Loretta Chase novel and I'm happily buying the rest of the series. It is extremely well-written, the balance of fun and heartache is perfect, and there was plenty of action.

Least predictable, most fun Romance/ adventure!
When I grow up, I want to be Jessica - Brilliantly smart, cunning and witty. I laughed out loud a number of times listening to her banter with her Diain and watching her twist him in circles as he was caught by her straight-forward assessments and solutions. She never deceived or tricked him -explained herself quite clearly, but he was certain she had to be up to no good as all women are -Sounds trite, but nothing you expect to happen does. Every time they headed into something I thought would be predictable, not only were their responses different, but so cleverly different, I HAD to back up and listen to them again! The story is excellent start to finish -I generally hate reviews that say "This is great!" and don't give a summary of the story, but I don't want to spoil this for anyone. Listen to the story and Expect the LEAST expected outcome!
