Publisher's summary

Waking up in Vegas was never meant to be like this.

Evelyn Thomas's plans for celebrating her twenty-first birthday in Las Vegas were big. Huge. But she sure never meant to wake up on the bathroom floor with a hangover to rival the black plague, a very attractive half-naked tattooed man in her room, and a diamond on her finger large enough to scare King Kong. Now if she could just remember how it all happened.

In Kylie Scott's Lick, one thing is certain: being married to one of the hottest rock stars on the planet is sure to be a wild ride.

This audiobook includes an excerpt from the first book in Kylie Scott's new Dive Bar series, Dirty.

4.5 Lickable Rock Stars!

First, I read this book on my kindle app and I decided to try it in audio. Either way, the story held my attention and I really enjoyed this 1st book in the series. This book begins with Evelyn going out for her 21st birthday, she wants to get a little wild, have a little fun. So she goes to Vegas with her best friend. The last thing she remembers is taking shots after midnight... the next morning she wakes up with a ring on her finger and a tattoo on her ass. And she can't remember a damn thing. Evelyn has her life mapped out. Getting married to a rockstar she just met on her 21st birthday is not part of that plan. David isn't happy that Evelyn doesn't remember anything. He married her for a reason, he fell for her right away, and now he doesn't know what to do about it. It’s a pretty messed up situation. Once the media catches wind of this its even more crazy. Eve and David go away for a bit to get away from the crowds and decide what to do. To divorce or not to divorce... that is the question. While at David’s home away, the couple starts to get to know one another. Evelyn realizes that she really likes David. She may even be falling for him. She is afraid to tell him her feelings. David still feels hurt and betrayed that Evelyn remembers nothing of their night together. One thing is pretty obvious... they both want each other.
Once they go back to LA, everything changes. There are a lot of issues, miscommunications etc. Things get screwed up. It’s a little heart breaking. David & Eve spend some time apart.
Just a touch of drama and angst, but not overkill. A wonderful rockstar book that will keep a smile on your face!

GOLD.... PURE GOLD

I don't really want to use the same old words to describe this listen.... like touching, tender, romantic, passionate, hot, heartbreaking, captivating and enjoyable and it's not because it wasn't all those things but it's because it was oh so much more. This very well written, often funny and richly described plot told of a love story that reached great highs and bitter lows of emotion. From the cast of characters, the couple's budding romance, the loving hot sex scenes, the intense betrayal, the heartbreaking break-up to the first tentative steps to a HEA, it was simply beautiful, a joy to listen to and the close connection you felt towards the H/H's bitter-sweet story will stay with you long after the book is finished.

So, IMHO, before you start this listen (if possible) I suggest you clear your schedules, have a Take Out menu handy, give the remote and the dog lead to your other half (if you have one), arrange sleepovers for your kids, turn your phone off, just ignore anything else that may pop-up and then..... just sit back, close your eyes, picture each scene and enjoy the show.

Worth a credit? Errr..... that would be a Marching Band, Acrobats, Whistles, Jugglers, Balloons and lots of Floats each displaying a 7 ft high flashing neon sign saying YES.

Nothing can prepare you.

Within the first 40 minutes of this audio I was chuckling and laughing hard. Needless to say I kept going for the entire book. Very few authors get me so caught up in a book that I just want more so this was a nice bonus. I shall definitely be searching for more Kylie Scott books. I think Andi Arndt was perfect for this book. The combination of author and narrator is a big deal for me. I would rather read text than listen to a horrible narration. I will definitely be trying other books narrated by Andie Arndt as well. I am sure this will be a book I can listen to over again on those days when I can't find anything I like on audible!

Love this

Imagine waking up married to a sexy rock star. I don't want to spoil the story for anyone but it is quite a ride. I enjoyed it and I do plan to get the other books in the series. It captured my interest fom the beginning to end. So if you want to meet a new band, with three other unattached members whose stories we can look foward to; discover what happens after the Vegas wedding with this couple and all the "mess" they have to work through; if your a fan of rock star books; if you just like a good romance..LOL Then I think you'll like this book. It was a credit well spent.

Loving These Rock Gods!

I read this a few years ago but since I just decided to listen to the rest of series I thought I'd start from the beginning. I loved this story. The characters were great and even though David is a Rock God, he just seemed like a regular guy which I loved. There relationship's beginning was unconventional to say the least but I think that helped this feel like less of an Insta-Love story. The sex was hot, the love was sweet and the narration was perfect!!

Teenage dream

What would have made Lick better?

I wish Audible would list a categorie for "Teen Explicit Sex" I admit I should have read the reviews closer instead of just scanning them. When I flew by one reference liking to "Shades of Grey" I should have known... this was a young adult listen.

What could Kylie Scott have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

I use the word "adult" loosely here... this book started with promise, quickly dropped into a young adult genre... which I could have enjoyed... but halfway through it became a teen drama.. a sexually active teen.

What three words best describe Andi Arndt’s performance?

Good reader... she stayed with the drop in age and IQ.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Embarrassment

Any additional comments?

Audible please give these books their own categorie.

Not your typical rocker romance

Good girl Evelyn Thomas woke with a 5-carat ring on her finger. Whatever happened, she can't remember. But apparently she married David Ferris, one of the members of rock band Stage Dive AND got a tattoo of his name on her butt.
The horrors of alcohol!

Well David and Eve decide to spend some time together and get to know each other since they have this easy banter. Eve moves up to David's home in Monterrey and they have a blissful 5 days, until real life comes crashing in. I mean, what do they really know about each other? Their lives are so different. Evelyn wants to be an architect (or so she says) and David travels a lot with Stage Dive. Will this new romance work?

I am so glad that I listened to this book. I normally detest rocker romances, but this one was sweet. The hero and heroine had interesting back stories and their chemistry was intense. They were good for each other and I liked that something in them recognized it, even though they didnt know how to fight for it. It was sweet, emotional and slightly angst. But best of all, there was healing towards the end, with people facing their past and making better decisions to pursue their own dreams and happiness.

Great book!

Made an old woman feel young!

I'm not a twenty something like the characters, but I felt young and could relate to Evelyn. I loved the way Evelyn didn't take crap from David. I also loved that Ev has curves and that David loved those curves. We meet the whole band in this book, making want to read/listen to the others in the series. This book is not the best in the series; trust me they get better and better.

NOT erotica - worst kind of romantic drivel

This came up on a search for erotica. I don't know why. The title maybe? I gave it a shot since the narrator did her best but the main character was awful (AND 21!!)

Maybe if these were slightly older characters I could have bought the story, but even then...
