Publisher's summary

What does it take to rise from life's depths, swim against the current, and breathe?

Weighted down by the loss of her parents, Blythe McGuire struggles to keep her head above water as she trudges through her last year at Matthews College. Then a chance meeting sends Blythe crashing into something she doesn't expect - an undeniable attraction to a dark-haired senior named Chris Shepherd, whose past may be even more complicated than her own. As their relationship deepens, Chris pulls Blythe out of the stupor she's been in since the night a fire took half her family. She begins to heal, and even, haltingly, to love this guy who helps her find new paths to pleasure and self-discovery. But as Blythe moves into calmer waters, she realizes Chris is the one still strangled by his family's traumatic history. As dark currents threaten to pull him under, Blythe may be the only person who can keep him from drowning.

This audiobook is intended for mature audiences due to strong language and sexual content.

Another hit by Jessica Park!

Loved this book by Jessica Park, it had he tender funny moments mixed with angst, mystery and serious, powerful topics. Her pacing was excellent and it made want hard to put the book down. Arielle DeLisle does an amazing job, I felt her interpretation of the book was great, her tone and speed perfect and made me enjoy the book even more.

Great story, but a bit too sexually graphic

Is there anything you would change about this book?

too much time and emphasis was spent on sex acts. although there was meaning associated with the reasons for the characters every move. so cutting that back a bit could be a challenge.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

healing from damage. we all have our battles.

What three words best describe Arielle DeLisle’s voice?

very feminine, youthful. which goes with the main character.

Did Left Drowning inspire you to do anything?

quit whining and crying about my problems.
