Raw, animal magnetism is a big red flag to prim and proper office manager Jane Morgan.
After a rough childhood with a mother who liked her men in prison-jumpsuit orange, Jane changed her name, her look, and her taste for bad boys. So why is she lusting for William Chase with his tattoo-covered biceps and steel-toed boots? The man blows things up for a living!
She gives herself one explosive, fantasy-filled night with Chase. The next day it's back to plain Jane and safe men.
But when her beloved brother becomes a murder suspect, it's Chase who comes to her rescue. And Jane discovers that a man who's been around the block knows a thing or two about uncovering the truth....

I enjoy historical, paranormal, and contemporary romance. Also steampunk, sci-fi, fantasy, suspense, and fiction. I'm open to about anything
I found this very entertaining and would give it another listen. The timeline between when Jane and Chase meet and when their real relationship begins is good, with character development and story movement in between. There a few laughs, and a bit of angst. I enjoyed it, and the narrator kept it going.
I believe there are 3 elements to a great romance audible book: good narration, believable plot, flawed characters and great dialogue!
This was my first book by Victoria Dahl, and I believe it is her best on audible. I enjoyed watching the relationship between the main characters Jane and Chase unfold, while Jane figured out how to deal with her sticky past with her mother and present with her brother. Savannah Richards does a great job narrating, I think this is one of the main reasons I enjoyed the book so much.
I tried out this audiobook because it was recommended based on my previous purchases of Kyra Davis' audiobooks. I was sorely mistaken! The narrator seems to read each sentence with contempt. The way that she emphasizes the last word in the sentence is really annoying. The author also includes a lot of extended, detailed soft porn scenes, including almost the entire first chapter. I don't mind short sex scenes, but this was way too much for me. It also seemed to have the setup of a porn movie, a bad girl who dresses very conservatively and secretly yearns for bad boys. The plot develops more later in the story, but I found myself irritated with the main character's obtuseness for most of the story. Don't bother with this one! If you're looking for interesting, funny, suspenseful chick lit, check out Kyra Davis' mystery books instead.
The plot compared to the other two in the series is deep, complex and realistic. The sex is hot (the narrator did a great job) although it is not as hot as Start Me Up.
Read all three in the series beginning with "Talk Me Down, Start Me Up, Lead Me On" in that order. Dahl's humor keeps you laughing out loud, sexy steamy romance with none of the character "side bar redundant drivel" that seems to be fill-in words to meet that page count quota you find in most novels.
I love these stories. The best credits I've used!
I liked all three of the Victoria Dahl books but this one was the best. Jane and Chase made a great lust story. The narrator makes the book. I was shocked to hear her voice and looked at the name listed as narrator then compair her to the narrator to the Virgin River Series by Robyn Carr. They are one and the same only under different names. So if you enjoy the narrator give Robyn Carr a listen you will also enjoy her books.
This is my second book with Victoria Dahl GREAT I LOVED IT VERY SEXY I read the 1st book Start Me Up which was Great Also. LEAD ME ON !!! Will definalty look into additonal books Good Narrator
