To Dana Steele, books and the knowledge they hold are the key to contentment. But now that search for knowledge must include the second key needed to release three souls held captive by an evil god.
She won't be alone, for she's formed fast friendships with two very different women. She can't allow herself to be distracted by the return of the man who broke her heart so long ago, for a danger beyond anyone's imagination is determined to keep her from completing her quest.

I can find a book to love in any genre -- a beautifully written classic, an interesting mystery or sci-fi, a trashy romance. Bring it!
STORY (fantasy/romance) - You can't go wrong with this series. There are great characters sweet romances, clever banter, all tied together with a mysterious quest. Dana, Mallory and Zoe must, in turn, find three keys to release three souls held captive by an evil god. This is Book 2, Dana's quest, and it's a wild one. She tangles with Cain, the evil god, and with sexy Jordan Hawke as well. Not just a sweet romance, lots more going on.
PERFORMANCE - I love Susan Ericksen. She always delivers a great performance. In this book I especially love her performances of Pitt and Rowena, two of the gods.
OVERALL - The books in this series should be listened to in order so you follow the story of the quest for the keys and the character development. That said, each book does a good job of bringing you up to speed and each story stands alone. There's a tiny bit of cursing, but it's pretty mild. There are also Nora's typical romantic, "classy" sex scenes, the kind that aren't explicit but you still can feel the passion and heat. Recommended for all romance readers.
I fell in love with Dana and Jordans relationship in all it cute aspects and their struggle to find what must be found. amazing story and I look forward to more books from this author
I can't WAIT to listen to the third book! The first and, even more so, the second book is a gripping fantasy romance. SO worth it! Am curious to see how Nora's creativity will let Zoey find the key, and can't wait for the romance to unfold with Brad.
I loved this book as much as I did the first book in the trilogy. Nora Roberts always draws me into the story. Her characters are so believable. The narrator did a great job of separating the different characters voices so that I could keep up with who was speaking. I can't wait to read the third book.
The flow of the story the coming together of friends.
Roweena her voice lilting and seductive
When Jordan and Dana were at his mom's gravesite had me in tears.
Wonderful story, just picks up where book one left off. The narrator is AWSOME love how she brought each character to life.
Great Trilogy and message in all 3 books. You can see yourself in each woman but one will really pair with you. This was a surprising and wonderful read.
"Great story that you can lose yourself in"
I love the characters and as the books progress you learn more and more about them. Thoroughly enjoyed it have read it a few times now.
"better than the first book."
in the first book of the trilogy, key of light we meet all the characters we will follow through the story. it is obvious who the three partnerships will be. in the first it was Mallory and Flynn now in this part of the story it is dana and jorden who must come together to find the second key to unlock the spell cast upon a king's three daughters.nora Roberts is very good at describing relationships and making the unbelievable believable as she does in this story, a grown up fairy story, the power of good against evil. and as with all fairy stories we are there rooting for the good guys and a happy ending.the atmosphere and tension in finding the key is also very well done.hope that the third part is as good. once more susan Erickson performed the book well. she added so much to an already thrilling story.
