To Dana Steele, books and the knowledge they hold are the key to contentment. But now that search for knowledge must include the second key needed to release three souls held captive by an evil god.
She won't be alone, for she's formed fast friendships with two very different women. She can't allow herself to be distracted by the return of the man who broke her heart so long ago, for a danger beyond anyone's imagination is determined to keep her from completing her quest.

I can find a book to love in any genre -- a beautifully written classic, an interesting mystery or sci-fi, a trashy romance. Bring it!
STORY (fantasy/romance) - You can't go wrong with this series. There are great characters sweet romances, clever banter, all tied together with a mysterious quest. Dana, Mallory and Zoe must, in turn, find three keys to release three souls held captive by an evil god. This is Book 2, Dana's quest, and it's a wild one. She tangles with Cain, the evil god, and with sexy Jordan Hawke as well. Not just a sweet romance, lots more going on.
PERFORMANCE - I love Susan Ericksen. She always delivers a great performance. In this book I especially love her performances of Pitt and Rowena, two of the gods.
OVERALL - The books in this series should be listened to in order so you follow the story of the quest for the keys and the character development. That said, each book does a good job of bringing you up to speed and each story stands alone. There's a tiny bit of cursing, but it's pretty mild. There are also Nora's typical romantic, "classy" sex scenes, the kind that aren't explicit but you still can feel the passion and heat. Recommended for all romance readers.
I cannot read in the shower and when I drive. This gives me a story even in the dead spaces!
I am Dana.
Dana is so perfect and so much like me. The best moment was when she told her boss to shove it. From anyone else this would seem reckless, but Dana does nothing lightly. She is so strong and so good! Great job again Nora Roberts!
Zoe. She is the perfect example of a single mother that has had to work for everything she has. She is worn out but still so loving and so perfect! The narrator did a great job making her sound motherly, leery, and sexy all in one.
Dana Falling and love and hatting herself for it. I have been there with a guy that already broke my heart once. She felt what I did angry and not willing to try again but she did and so did I am we both married that guy in the end.
Please read this Book!!!
Spoiler alerts ahead!
You see it coming, you see it coming miles away, 2 of the women are engaged by the end of this. One has know the man of her dreams not 2 months. The other has only forgiven hers for breaking her heart about a week... Which she was talked into doing by her friend and business partner who she's known for a month and a half.
This is a manual on unrealistic relationships and expectations. The men and women are all ridiculously attractive, the men are all rich, the women were all broke until they got their windfall in the first book. Textbook fairytale nonsense no one should be reading past their teens.
Basically, if you want to suspend belief of basic human nature and reality for the length of time it takes you to get through this, you might enjoy it. I was unable to do so to the extent required by the author and I read a lot of fantasy books.
I got 2 for one in an audible sale, I gave them a fair chance, they're just not my cup of tea... Or coffee, or water, juice..
This is one of Nora Robert's best series. It is made even better with Susan Ericksen's narration. Susan is perfect at narrating stories that need both American and Celtic accents. When Cain or Pit spoke, I heard Rourke's voice from the J. D. Robb books. Nora Roberts and Susan Ericksen - a perfect team!
"Fairy tales for those who believe!"

"Great story that you can lose yourself in"
I love the characters and as the books progress you learn more and more about them. Thoroughly enjoyed it have read it a few times now.
"better than the first book."
in the first book of the trilogy, key of light we meet all the characters we will follow through the story. it is obvious who the three partnerships will be. in the first it was Mallory and Flynn now in this part of the story it is dana and jorden who must come together to find the second key to unlock the spell cast upon a king's three daughters.nora Roberts is very good at describing relationships and making the unbelievable believable as she does in this story, a grown up fairy story, the power of good against evil. and as with all fairy stories we are there rooting for the good guys and a happy ending.the atmosphere and tension in finding the key is also very well done.hope that the third part is as good. once more susan Erickson performed the book well. she added so much to an already thrilling story.
