One man is a harbinger. The other a bad boy. She seeks to save their race. Too bad she has to die.
NiaMora, is destined to die - tonight. Severin, a harbinger of death, has already arrived to bear witness. But he'll defy his duty. He won't stand by and watch, not when NiaMora may be his people's last hope for survival.
Zan Wynn cares nothing for Severin's heroic delusions. The Fae-tech mogul has "spies" on NiaMora and her aftermath cleaner team. He wants her for reasons of his own, and as the quintessential bad boy - some might say bad guy - he can't be bothered to play fair.
Oblivious to her doom, NiaMora focuses on the missing Way, the very essence of the Fae and the reason they are trapped in the mortal world. There's also the small matter of remaining single when she can't deny Severin's power over her or Zan Wynn's hypnotic pull. One man is her fate, the other the prelude to her destruction.

Because this is a quick listen, I did not expect such well-developed characters. My assumption was wrong. The characters are interesting, developed, and compelling. It's my first time listening to a story by this author. I am now a fan. She only has one other story on Audible, but I'm getting that one as well, and I look forward to more. Hopefully, all of her stories will be as interesting and complex as the Keeper of the Way. I'm glad I took a chance on the author and this story, it was definitely well-worth it.
urban world-building fantasy
When one character levitates and goes to commune with a spirit. . .
Sucked me into her world and I got to live there way too briefly.
More, more more! The final chapter could use some rework - felt like an afterthought or oops, I missed an X scene. . .
