Kara has serious doubts about herself after the birth of twins. She had no idea it would be so hard taking care of one baby, let alone two. With her self-esteem fading into oblivion, she's forced to choose between being a mom and having the career she always wanted. Kara is stubborn and refuses to ask anyone for help, even her husband.
Dave loves his wife and new daughters more than anything, but since the girls were born, he feels Kara slipping further away from him. Will Kara realize she doesn't have to conquer the world alone and find her way back to Dave? Will her meddling mother-in-law use this opportunity to sabotage her and Dave's marriage?

I love listening to audio books while I am working on things around the house, or out and about. Holly Jackson's reading just tops the cake. Love her reading work.
I really like this series of short stories. They are focused on real women with real issues that have normal martial problems. They are hot little numbers that can spark some great ideas.
N.Y. Times Bestselling Author
I haven't read the print version, only because I absolutely love listening to Hollie Jackson tell the story.
My favorite character was Kara.
I love how she brings the story and the characters to life.
I could really relate to Kara. Having twins myself you go through many emotions. Not feeling pretty anymore and thinking your husband feels the same way you do about yourself. I love how this series examines the real problems that occur in a marriage, and yet the couple's love for each other prevail above all else.
yes I am loving the whole series and Kara is my favorite and Holly Jackson is great
Kara she is compelled to get things as they should be
yes I have listened to several she always is spot on for the book she is doing
Holly Jackson is great she brings any story to life
Yes! Its a short story and was very entertaining!
The scene with Dave and his mother in the kitchen!
Dave standing up for Kara against his mother and putting his mother in her place.
Another wonderful combination of Melanie James's wonderful writing and Holly Jackson Narration. These 2 are amazing together!!
I love how true to life the characters are. It's easy to relate to Kara & Dave or any of their friends. And of course, we all have that one family member....
Kara is my favorite, I can understand her frustration with being a new mom, feeling like you should be able to do everything yourself, and all the changes that come with being a new parent.
Hollie always does a fantastic job bringing the characters and story to life.
I just had to laugh when Dave found out some of the things his mother was doing to Kara, his wife. I love the "dinner" he put together.
Yes, I would. It brought back memories of when I had my daughter and felt exactly what Kara was feeling.
I only really have Ava and Will's story to compare because this is my first experience reading this type of series about married couples! I will definitely be reading the remainder 4 books in this series!
Kara was my favorite character read by Hollie James.
Yes, when Kara realizes Dave still finds her beautiful and loves all her curves after giving birth to their twins.
I have listened to many of Melanie James Books and there has not been one I didn't love.
I am Tammy Payne. I am an avid book reader and I also have a book blog :)
I really enjoyed listening to Kara & Dave it ranks right up there high with the others.
When Kara finally puts her mother inlaw Victoria in her place. That woman has put Kara through the ringer for years.
When Dave surprises his wife with a weekend getaway to show her how much he still wants her and finds her attractive.
I grunted alot on the parts of Victoria. She is a woman on a mission to ruin her son's life.
The narrator does a fantastic job at getting the story out there and the reactions in her voice bring it to life.
This is a great depiction of what happens when a couple has a baby. Kara has been focused on their twins and not her own desires. She feels like her body has changed and shuts her husband out. They are able to get a weekend together alone and passion takes over. Melanie James does a fantastic job with this whole series!
