Publisher's summary

In this “brave and heartbreaking novel that digs its claws into you and doesn’t let go, long after you’ve finished it” (Anna Todd, New York Times bestselling author) from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of All Your Perfects, a workaholic with a too-good-to-be-true romance can’t stop thinking about her first love.

Lily hasn’t always had it easy, but that’s never stopped her from working hard for the life she wants. She’s come a long way from the small town where she grew up—she graduated from college, moved to Boston, and started her own business. And when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid, everything in Lily’s life seems too good to be true.

Ryle is assertive, stubborn, maybe even a little arrogant. He’s also sensitive, brilliant, and has a total soft spot for Lily. And the way he looks in scrubs certainly doesn’t hurt. Lily can’t get him out of her head. But Ryle’s complete aversion to relationships is disturbing. Even as Lily finds herself becoming the exception to his “no dating” rule, she can’t help but wonder what made him that way in the first place.

As questions about her new relationship overwhelm her, so do thoughts of Atlas Corrigan—her first love and a link to the past she left behind. He was her kindred spirit, her protector. When Atlas suddenly reappears, everything Lily has built with Ryle is threatened.

An honest, evocative, and tender novel, It Ends with Us is “a glorious and touching read, a forever keeper. The kind of book that gets handed down” (USA TODAY).

one of life's important lessons!!

Would you consider the audio edition of It Ends with Us to be better than the print version?

did not read book, only listened!!

What did you like best about this story?

Watching the characters grow up and learn...how as much as you love someone you must care for your own being....

Have you listened to any of Olivia Song’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

no, can't compare

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Love comes at an ultimate price

Any additional comments?

Great story, great characters, all of them, what a difficult and painful AND important lesson to learn....I recommend this book to All women...and men!

Emotional lesson learned.

Would you listen to It Ends with Us again? Why?

No, just because I don't care to hear the same story twice lol

What other book might you compare It Ends with Us to and why?

I don't know if there is anything I have previously read that is comparable to this story. This book has great substance to it.

Which scene was your favorite?

My favorite scene was one that made me cry, when she said she memorized Atlas's number because she had a feeling she would have to use it.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yeah, but I can't say without giving away the ending.

Any additional comments?

Just an FYI, this story has domestic abuse in it. Just a warning because some ppl are very sensitive to that. I know I am because this hits very close to home.

Amazingly poignant story!

This story was so beautifully written. I can't find a cryptic way to write about what the female protagonist did without spoiling the ending. I guess what I can express is that she had a difficult decision to make. I found myself somewhat conflicted because a part of me believes the majority of people are good at their core. Whether you are male or female, this book will tug at your heart. I found the author's note at the end to be the saddest part of this story because the novel was loosely based on things she witnessed in her youth.

Ms. Hoover, You wrote an amazing story and my heart goes out to you for what you saw growing up. I can only imagine it's something that will be a part of your consciousness for the rest of your life. I hope your book will help others who find themselves in an abusive relationship.

Unlike any other

I've read all of Colleen Hoover's other books--a guilty pleasure of mine. I was expecting this to be like any of her other titles, and to an extent, it does deliver the same qualities that made me a fan. However, this story took me through so many emotions while she navigated me though the subject of domestic abuse. The author's note truly touched me--causing me to cry at my desk in the middle of the work day. Nonetheless, a beautiful story. Would recommend it to any woman.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING

I had a client recommend this book to me she told me not to read what it's about or look at any reviews; just go into it not knowing anything.... so I did and from the very beginning I was hooked! I COULD NOT stop listening!! This was my first book by Colleen and I can say I'm officially obsessed with her writing and the narration by Olivia was beyond perfect!
