Publisher's summary

For the first time on audio, here is number one New York Times best-selling author Karen Marie Moning’s novella Into the Dreaming, a tale of Highland fantasy, star-crossed lovers, and the timeless manipulation of the ancient, immortal Unseelie king. This is Moning at her romantic, funniest finest.

Free him from his ice-borne hell....

Stolen from his beloved home in the Highlands of Scotland, imprisoned in the Unseelie king’s dark, frosty kingdom, Aedan MacKinnon endured centuries of torture before becoming the icy, emotionless Vengeance, the dark king’s dispatcher of death and destruction in the mortal realm.

And in his century you both may dwell....

Aspiring romance novelist Jane Sillee has always believed that she was born in the wrong century, but she’s managed to make a decent enough life for herself - if only she could stop having those recurring dreams about a man too perfect to exist.

In the Dreaming you have loved him....

Haunted every night of her life by a devastatingly sexy Highlander who comes to her while she sleeps, Jane tries to write him out of her head and heart. As a child he protected her, as a woman he loves her.

Now in the Waking you must save him....

When an ancient tapestry bearing the likeness of her beloved Highlander arrives on her doorstep, Jane is whisked back in time to fifteenth-century Scotland, to the castle of Dun Haakon on the isle of Skye, where she is given one chance to save her dream lover... or lose him forever to the Unseelie king.

Caught in a deadly game between the light and dark courts of the Fae, Jane must find a way through the ice to the heart of her Highander. But will the love of one mortal woman be enough to defeat such ancient and ruthless immortal enemies?

Totally worth it.

I love Karen Marie Moning's Highlander series and Into the Dreaming was no exception. Granted, I was disappointed to realize that it was much shorter than her other Highlander works but in this case quality definitely trumped quantity. Listening to Into the Dreaming is a perfect way to pass a lazy evening or boring commute. Phil Gigante's narration is as wonderful as ever.

Wonderful

I've read the whole series and absolutely loved it. No one better than Phil Gigante, specifically when he does THE VOICE.

Shouldn’t cost as much as a 13 hour novel

The story is good. Short and sweet as it is a novella. I don’t believe it should have cost as much as a whole novel but I will listen to it again now that I’ve bought it

Ahhh ..... it's short but oh sooooo good!!!

This could be a stand alone listen but, if you haven't already listened to her Highlander series, I would treat yourself and start downloading the entire series today. Anything she writes is an automatic download for me and this series has been just awesome.

Coupled with great time travelling stories, Phil Gigante brings all of Karen's books to life and his Scottish accents are so sexy and spot on (and I'm Scottish), I love his voice, its one of the best on Audible.

Worth the credit? - Hell yes.

humor, Highlander, time travel and the Fae

Take a frustrated 20th century romance writer, a 10th century Highland warrior, time travel to 1428 Isle of Skye, add the Tuatha Dé Danaan and a dose of humor then combine them as only Moning can and you get a witty little romance set in the world of her Highlander series.
This is a complete standalone story with the only overlapping characters being the Unseelie King and the Seelie Queen. We get a bit of their backstory which further sets up the following Fever series.

Wish their was more

My only problem with this is that it was short and not like any of the other books. It went too fast and seemed to be hurried. I loved the characters and would have liked to have seen this been a full length book delving in more to their background.

Not the entire book.

There is more to this book I bought. For some reason the entire book will not play. There is another wonderful story after this but even though I paid for the full book I didn't get it.
