One of the few white kids in a rural Kentucky town, Logan Whyte always kept to his own kind out of self-preservation. He never considered himself racist, but that didn't stop him from falling in with the wrong crowd--one that celebrated hate as much as he fought it--or from ending up in prison for eight years on an armed-robbery charge.

A successful, educated black woman, Katie Andreassen was tired of being accused of betraying her own race. Her lonely isolation, coupled with her grief over losing her mother, inspire her to create a new pen pal program at Capshaw State Penitentiary, where her father is a warden.

The program brings the unlikely pair together, but Logan and Katie soon find themselves forced to overcome past fears and prejudices. Their friendship doesn't come easily, especially when threatened by a crooked lawyer with a grudge and a best friend who betrays her promise to help.

When faced with a world that forces them apart, Logan and Katie must show everyone else what they have discovered: that love is, in fact, colorblind.

Great topic handled with realism. Inger creared a romance without perfect characters. Very Nice.

Well Done

This was the first time I listened to a book by Inger Iversen and I could not stop listening. This was an awesome book all the characters made it good and my heart went out to Logan. I can't wait to start book 2 of this series. I really like how Katelyn was raised by a non black step father and how he remained in her life even after her mother passed. Teal kind of got on my nerve, but I like Trent and Logan interaction and can't wait to learn more about Trent in the next book.

Awesome!!!

Would you listen to Incarcerated again? Why?

Yeah, it was good.

What did you like best about this story?

I like that that the author kept it real and didn't gloss over the issues in an interracial relatioship. I can't wait to listen to the next book with Teal and Trent.

Which character – as performed by Olivia Peppersmith – was your favorite?

Teal, she sounded a bit country and didn't take any mess.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Logan and Katie's agrueement after the airport! Sexy!

Happily Ever After? Maybe...

Let me be real... hearing this white woman trying to portray "ghetto", thug, and black characters has my skin crawling. I am trying to finish this book but it is hard to listen to.

Real story with real issues and BAD narration. pushing through because I love the author

If you could sum up Incarcerated in three words, what would they be?

Romantic, funny and passionate

What other book might you compare Incarcerated to and why?

I don't know, but I loved the characters and can't wait to read more about them. Katie is sweet and funny and Logan is strong and smart.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, I did listen to it in one sitting. I loved the characters and I loved that thebook didn't have a fairy tale ending, just a HFN kind of ending. The ending was complete and realistic.

Fantastic!
